Current look of Sweden's roster:

Goalies:
Henrik Lundqvist, New York Rangers
Jacob Markström, Vancouver Canucks
Jhonas Enroth, Örebro

Defence:
Adam Larsson, Edmonton Oilers
Robert Hägg, Philadelphia Flyers
Mattias Ekholm, Nashville Predators
Marcus Pettersson, Pittsburgh Penguins
Oliver Ekman Larsson, Arizona Coyotes
Erik Gustafsson, Chicago Blackhawks
John Klingberg, Dallas Stars

Forwards:
Adrian Kempe, Los Angeles Kings
Marcus Krüger, Chicago Blackhawks
Loui Eriksson, Vancouver Canucks
Elias Lindholm, Calgary Flames
Mario Kempe, Arizona Coyotes
Oskar Lindblom, Philadelphia Flyers
Elias Pettersson, Vancouver Canucks
Anton Lander, Lokomotiv Yaroslavl
Jesper Bratt, New Jersey Devils
Dennis Rasmussen, Metallurg Magnitogorsk
Patric Hörnqvist, Pittsburgh Penguins
William Nylander, Toronto Maple leaves
Alexander Wennberg, Columbus Blue Jackets

Strong in the crease and on the blue line.
The forwards... not sure.

I mean, they're not bad, but I miss the sort of charisma that Forsberg, Bäckström, Zetterberg, the Sedins brought.
Pettersson will get there, eventually. And he is an awesome power play mastermind, who can both shoot, deke and set up other players.
Which Nylander will we see? The 60 Points per season guy or the one we saw in Toronto this season? He should florish with EP, I hope.
Oh, well, they're all cpmpetent players (yes, even Loui, who has not been used in a role that fits him on the Canucks), but do they have the game winning qualities needed to win a third consecutive gold?

Pettersson doin his thing as we speak. He did take a nasty hit into the boards down on his knees earlier that didn't look to good though.

Here's the assist.

Canada>>>US>>>Sweden>>>losers today, big time.
Not a great day for any Canucks.
I'll wait for Per to weigh in on the Czech/Sweden game, but man, that was almost Slapshot, Goon hockey.
Did not expect that.
From the bits and pieces I saw of games, not like usual WC hockey.
Every bit as intense as NHL playoffs, Holy-Crap.

Missed the game vs the Czechs as I once again was up North emptying my mom's house.
Second weekend in a row. All done now. Cleaning crew goes in tomorrow. New owners

Did anyone see Quinn Hughes work on the 3-0 goal for the US vs France? Damn! :look:

Kaapo Kakko scored two goals against Canada and then a hat trick against Slovakia.
Five goals in just two games, against pretty good opposition.*

Jack Hughes who?

*it should be noted that the Slovakian players take their orders from Satan and do his bidding...

Three more assists by Loui as Sweden beat Italy 8-0.
This brings him to 47 points in 46 world championship games.

One assist for Elias - but damn!

First he starts deking in his own zone, and the frustrated Italian trips him.
Then he excels as usual on the power play, varying what he does, cross passes, back to the blue line, etc, and then a short exact pass to the crease where Hörnqvist buries it. Love watching this kid! 8-)

Kakko might end up being the better pick on draft day.

Canada 6-5 over Slovakia in their own barn. It was not popular there.
Canada scored with 2 seconds left on a PP.
The fans though Canada deserved a penalty during this PP.
They were VERY f**king mad.
They they coins.

Was actually the best, most intense, hard hitting game I've seen on big ice in a long time.
Sloppy as shit but intense.

Those Slovaks fans are like barbarians. Tough barn...

Tickets are cheaper in Europe, so you don't get just the corporate crowd...

Sweden let poor Jacob down. 9-1 vs Norway.

I'd like to see more magic from Elias, but he is a power play genius. Beautiful artwork.

Five points this game for Nylander, who now is the points leader of the tournament.
If Toronto wants to get rid of him, I wouldn't mind for the Canucks to make a bid.
