Pettersson didn't play versus Austria and there are rumours of flu, mononucleosis, etc. Local radio this morning was having a tantrum about the lack of information coming out of the World' Championships, so I say ask our man on the ground in Sweden... any news?
Sorry, all they say is that he is ill. Never disclose injuries...?

Sure, nice, but why did Horvat only score two goals when McDavid scored three?!

Canada 5, Norway 0.
McJesus-3 goals
Horvat-2 goals.
Not bad, eh!

So far these championships have been a bit too lopsided. But at least Denmark beat Finland.
Not sure if the USA beating Canada or Czechs beating Russia can be considered upsets. Probably not.
But traditionally the US will suck at the world championships, despite being a contender when all players are available.
Perhaps not so this year then.

The tournament will get more interesting when we reach the knockout stages.

OK, seems he just had a cold. No ice practice today, but on the bike. Should be good to go tomorrow against Slovakia. Only problem is, which line? While he was tucked in in bed, Adrian Kempe took his place on the line with Backlund and Nyqvist and scored two goals... Will Elias be back on that line, or will they try to fit him in elsewhere?

Thanks to the Winnipeg Jets, Sweden can now add Filip Forsberg, Viktor Arvidsson and Mattias Ekholm to the roster! 8-)

Patrik Hörnqvist will also be added.

Because of this Lawrence Pilut, Carl Klingberg, John Norman and Adam Almquist, who were on the preliminary roster but have not played yet, will be sent home.

Finland is an enigma. First they lose to Denmark, then they beat Canada! :o

Pettersson on the second line with Backlund and Hörnqvist.
He has had one assist so far, but is not playing right now - hope he's not injured?

Sweden ahead 4-2 against Switzerland with six minutes remaining.

He broke his thumb. :(

Sounds like a hairline fracture.
Shouldn't affect his future, from what I understand, but he won't play any more in this tournament.

This is how it happened. His thumb got fractured by the goal post as he flew by.

So it better be hockey.
Guess a second choice for a career wouldn't be airline pilot.
