Just imagine if we'd started Hart... Sweden has some nice offensive talent, but the Canucks kept them to the outside most of the night, and didn't allow them much space. I don't know what the Swedish coach was thinking keeping 16-year old Dahlin out of the game until the 3rd period, he made an impact when he showed up. Gotta figure he was keeping him on the bench out of fear he'd make a mistake or get run down by Canada's forecheck, but he was quite noticeable in the third period and should have played much earlier.

The US will be a tough one. The Canadians imposed their physicality on the Swedes and the forecheck really paid off. Not sure we'll be able to do that against the Americans, who out-muscled Canada on NYE. Our defence will need a lot of help containing their forwards down low. If Hart can keep his confidence up, and the scoring remains by committee, we have a decent chance. Still think we're the underdogs.

I think the yanks are going to win this one quite easily. The Canadians are a bit soft when it comes to getting pushed by the yanks. The Yanks are a pretty determined group this year and love to beat us as they are tired of being in our shadow. We are quite whimpy when it comes to playing the yanks

My money is on Canada. As I said before, they always play better in the elimination games. And I'm sure the players want revenge for their round robin loss against their southern cousins.

And hopefully Sweden can snatch the bronze from the Russkies. :mex:

Anything can happen in this format.
It sucks.
These playoff games deserve a better ending that what you saw between Russia and the US, that was ridiculous and not fair to the fans either, no matter who you root for.
I'll say the team that can stay out of the penalty box will win this game.

Jost was a beast in that under 18 tourney, he needs to snap out of it, not sure if the frog coach is using him properly
