Maybe. But Laine is third in scoring with 7 goals and 4 assists in 8 games. Pretty impressive.
The previous record for an 18-yo playing at the Worlds was 5 points, set by Jagr.

The Swedes are looking sharper against Canada than they did against Russia.
Not thst it is helping much. 2-0 for Canada so far.

You have to go back to 1958 to find a game where Sweden lost with bigger numbers to Canada at the Worlds.
The team Sweden had assembled for this tournament was pathetic!

Markström wasn't bad, but his team was.
I loved the way he handled McJesus's breakaway.
Can you see this in Canada?

So, before the world championship final, I guess we get a European final (Finland vs Russia) and a North American final (Canada vs US).

Good win by Canada, Duchene I think was the best Canadian in today's game.
Tanev has shown the world how good he actually is.

Sorry. Should have remembered. Even when Canada sucks in the round robin, they usually manage to pick it up a notch once the elimination games begin. Not the first time this happens.
