Almost felt sorry for the Slovaks. 6-0.

So the question is, will Sweden face Finland or Canada in the semi final?
Finland ahead 4-3 after two periods.

Blackwood is a terrible goalie but Mason Macdonald is no better . Wtf was Chabot doing there ? Yeah great Virtanen has played maybe four decent periods in five games . Whole team has stunk for the most part . Just not a very good Canadian tam this season , they can't win every year .

Fins goalie is worse than ours :|

Our D is worse than theirs...offence is about the same.

Could go either way in this game...not a classic playoff game...kinda like watch the Canucks last Spring...and this Spring :P
I love every move Jim Benning makes 8-)

True story. This is likely the worst Canadian team since the team that lost to Kazakhstan in 1998.

Still, they might yet pull this one out. Maybe if Blackwood can improve on his .762 in this game we'll have a shot.

Hasn't goaltending been a problem for the Junior team for a few years.

Well Virtanen just put an exclamation mark on a terrible tournament.

Brilliant penalties by Virtanen . This kid makes David Booth look like a wizard .

Wtf? Canada has a powerplay and Virtanen manages to first hook a Finn, than slash one and get 2+2.
He really needs to learn to control himself... :|

And then a puck out penalty...

You really can't blame the refs.
These are all very clear penalties, they have to call them.
But the Canadian players really have to stop taking these silly penalties.
What's next? Too many men? :hmmm:

And Finland scores.

I don't think he's smart enough . Then Hicketts decides to wire the puck into the crowd because he's a mongtard .

Yep, couple that with him wiping out a 5-on-3 with around 9 minutes left in the 2nd. I'm not sure I've seen someone single-handedly sink a team's chances like he has today.

Well the Hicketts penalty probably wouldn't be happening if these Finns would invest in some real glass for behind the nets, or Jake isn't sitting in the box forcing him to try and ice the puck.

Marner doing his best Virtanen to take us off another powerplay. At least Jake is showing good leadership for the 18 year olds.

Well the more deserving team won.

Jake certainly a goat for Canada. Was he a 19-year Finnish Sleeper agent born and raised specifically for this moment?

Weak goaltending, poor defence, complete lack of discipline. Terrible PK, perimeter PP. 19-year old no-shows and not enough from the skill guys. Dave Lowry slinks back to Victoria after coaching Canada to its worst finish in nearly 20 years.

Oh well, at least we won the Spengler.

This team should have been better than this regardless if it wasn't a powerhouse like Canadian teams of the past . Lowry had no control over these players whatsoever and not parking some of these guys after all the dumb penalties and poor play .

Virtanen what can you say ? He stunk most of the tournament and is an obvious discipline case as well as being fairly thick between the ears . Best case scenario for this guy might be a 3rd or 4th line plug in a few years . Back to junior and a couple years with Travis Green and they hopefully have a seviceable player down the road . I don't have high hopes .
