Looks like Canada may get a pretty good team to represent them at the World Championship in the Czech Republic this spring.

The following players have already agreed to play:
Mike Smith (Arizona)
Matt Duchene (Colorado)
Tyler Seguin (Dallas)
Jason Spezza (Dallas)
Jordan Eberle (Edmonton)
Taylor Hall (Edmonton)
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (Edmonton)
Aaron Ekblad (Florida)
Claude Giroux (Philadelphia)

Jamie Benn, Jeff Carter, Drew Doughty and Marc-Edouard Vlasic are other players that are expected to play but who have not confirmed yet.
They're also trying to get Connor McDavid to join, but it depends on how his Otters fare in the OHL playoffs.

Canada's first game will be against Latvia on May 1st.

The following NHL players may be available for Sweden:

Gabriel Landeskog, Colorado Avalanche
Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Arizona Coyotes
Oscar Klefbom, Edmonton Oilers
Jhonas Enroth, Dallas Stars
John Klingberg, Dallas Stars
Loui Eriksson, Boston Bruins
Elias Lindholm, Carolina Hurricanes
Joakim Lindström, Toronto Maples leaves
Adam Larsson, New Jersey Devils
Anton Lander, Edmonton Oilers
Melker Karlsson, San Jose Sharks
Jacob Josefson, New Jersey Devils
Nicklas Grossman, Philadelphia Flyers
Anders Lindbäck, Buffalo Sabres
Alexander Wennberg, Columbus Blue Jackets
Tim Erixon, Toronto Maple leaves
Johan Larsson, Buffalo Sabres
Klas Dahlbeck, Arizona Coyotes
Patrik Nemeth, Dallas Stars
Niklas Svedberg, Boston Bruins
Carl Söderberg, Boston Bruins

Only a handful have been confirmed yet, and at the World Championship Sweden tends to use a fair amount of SHL and KHL players as well, since they are used to the larger Surface and do not need to travel as far, so it remains to be seen what the final roster will look like.

Sweden's first game will be against the Czechs on May 1st.
Sounds like Jagr has confirmed that he is coming.

France and Denmark have the nicest jerseys imho, which is nice for them, as they probably won't have a lot else going for them at this tournament. Norway are attempting to look like Canada.

Also a special mention for the Slovenia Bobcats for having the closest resemblance to the Canucks.

Benn done for 4-5 months with hip surgery, which is probably why he didn't commit like his teammates.

Oh hey, Canucks are in the playoffs! Let's talk some tier-2 international hockey!

You guys know who won the Worlds last time?

Me neither! Cuz it doesn't mean a fucking thing!

Maybe there's a Swedish women's soccer game on somewhere too. Watch that and DVR the Canucks game, eh Per?

Thank the lord for box scores!

Crosby joins TC.

Our forward depth is stacked! http://www.tsn.ca/team-canada-men-s-ros ... p-1.256965

only weakness is goaltending, but if we're scoring prolifically it should help offset that.

And Bonino added to team USA.

The Sedins are not coming. Apparently because they are injured. :o

Can't be anything serious though, considering they were probably our best players against the Flames.

USA beat Finland 5-1. Surprised that Rinne would let in that many goals, but sure, the fifth was EN. Still.

Sweden relying on brothers of the stars. Ahead 2-1 against the Czechs after the first period.
1-0 EQ Joel Lundqvist
2-0 PP Staffan Kronwall
2-1 PP Jaromir Jagr
