Of coarse! But it's our duty to bitch about everything, right?

Talking about officiating, did you see that Russian dude take on EVERYBODY couple of weeks ago?
I guess that's grit, (bachelor's degree).

Yeah, can you imagine the scandal, the outrage, if England were to play Germany in the FIFA World Cup and the referee was German? Or English?

It's just not done. :drink:

Then develop better refs. Or don't play in the Canada Cup! :P

Actually PER, it's an NHL tourney.
I never thought they would use anything but NHL officials.

Wonder how many more players will drop out the next week or so...

Well, for the integrity of the game, they could at least have US refs in Canada's games and vice versa. Maybe one of each when the USA and Canada square off?

I mean, that wouldn't be so hard, would it?

Lehner is still nursing an injury and won't play for Sweden. Replaced by Enroth.
Convenient, I guess, as he just packed his bags and moved to Toronto... :mex:

Enrot (the h is just bling) btw means juniper root, in case you were wondering.

Now you show up with the gin and tonics.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Replaced by Calgary's Backlund. :|

Not happy. Kronwall and Lehner don't matter much, even if I guess Kronwall brings some toughness. Lehner was just the third string goalie, and we're deep at the blue line.

But Steen and Zetterberg... replaced by Rakell and Backlund... That smarts!

Question; If it's an important game or part of one, Would Ovy line up Backstom and crush him?

I say he would..

I do think he would, but he'd be biting the hand that feeds him (passes).

If we assume that international hockey tournaments and NHL hockey are at roughly the same level, Ovechkin performs far better when having Bäckström on his line.

In the NHL ha has a 1.15 ppg average.
At the World Championships he has an 0.84 ppg average and in Olympic hockey even worse: 0.65.
He played two games in the 2004 World Cup (granted, at the tender age of 19) and scored 1 goal. No assists. =0.50

I don't know, you could perhaps argue that it is tougher to score in international hockey. This might hold true in Olympic hockey, but considering some of the nations that participate in the World Championships - Nah. It should be easier to score there.
Much easier.

Thus it seems the Russians have not been able to find some one who "feeds" Ovechkin the way Bäckström does.
If he takes him out, he might get in trouble with the Capitals' management...
