Colorado at Vancouver, TSN 7:00 PM

Post by dr.dork »

In a rivalry that has mellowed of late, the Avalanche come back to town to visit up with Luongo and the boys. Joe Sakic, a Canuck killer for pretty much his whole career is out with a bad back. Hansen is back after groin troubles.

Budaj has been subpar in net for the Avalanche, but he has played well against the Canucks in the past. Get to him early and the Canucks should be able to put the Avalanche away. Get behind, and it might be a different story.

No talking about the you-know-what streak.

I'll say 3-1 Canucks with Pyatt, Salo and Bernier scoring. Hejduk for Colorado.

Go Canucks Go !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Having Sakic out is a plus for us. As long as we keep rolling and get '2' against the division rival, I'm happy.

So dork and I posted GDTs at the same time. I'll delete mine and give my thoughts on the game here.

3 straight for Luongo. I will not mention what exactly that is, in fear of jinxing Luongo. How much longer can the streak go? I'm not sure. The Avs usually show up for the Canucks, so I will say 3-2 Canucks in OT.

Salo (for pool purposes), Bernier and Burrows (winner) for the Canucks (Wellwood 2 assists).

Hejduk and Stastny for the Avs.
GO CANUCKS GO !!!

I'll say 4-2, the streak ending early in the 2nd.

Wellwood, Daniel, Henrik and Johnson with the goals.

Hejduk and Stastny for the Avs. Smyth with a couple of points.

Oh my goodness, almost a goal 5 seconds short of the (cough) ecord-ray.

Faceoff, and we have a new record!

Crapola first period, which was predictable between the layoff and the fact that it's, sigh, Colorado.

Man, that was a good powerplay. If only Bernier could finish. :(

It is so weird not to see Sakic in the lineup for a Vancouver game. Without Stastny and Hejduk firing as they can, and a strong offensive defenseman to release the speedy forwards, the Avalanche look very average.

Now if OUR guys can bury another goal or two!

Easier said than done, I think I could've scored on that Bernier chance.

Well, the Law of Averages declares that if Pyatt scores on a penalty shot, Bernier isn't going to score on an open net!

Awesome streak, but it had to end sometime - let's get two and not give Avs a loser point.

Are you watching the game on the NHL network Cornuck? Or Versus? Or internet feed.

BTW my sentiments exactly on your last post. Let's put this game away.
