Nice interview with Bones in the first intermission. What an interesting career he had: started as an Assistant Coach, became a head Coach for a few years, but had some tough years and then became an Assistant again for a good numbers of years (many with AV). It looked like he would be an Assistant for the remainder of his career, but he was kinda at the right place, at the right time and now he's looking like a very good Head Coach again. The Jets were not expected to play this well and he's getting a lot of the credit. AV should go work for him for a couple years.
I found what he said quite interesting. He basically said that building relationships with his players and earning their trust is the most important thing for him, more important than the Xs and Os. That sounds so much like Coach B. The criticism from our mgmt against Coach B is his failure to implement a strong system of of Xs and Os. I guess at the end of day, it's a result orientated business. It's working for Bones, but not really working Coach B this season. At this point, it's looking highly unlikely that Coach B will be back next season. Too bad, I like him, but he even said himself, if he fails to get the team into the playoffs his 2nd year, mgmt can just let him walk.
