McIntyre said last night that Burroughs earned his place in the lineup and that injury should not let him lose that spot. So if they remained healthy after last nights game rathbone would likely be sent back to Abby.
But they will likely bring him back for some games before season is done.

I think its funny McIntyre thinks a single game "earned" a spot. Burroughs has played 37 games for the Canucks this season. In my view, he's performed well enough for a #7 spot on an NHL team, and the club's known that for some time. His status in the lineup has less to do with his performance and more to do with whether the Canucks just want to see others once they've surrendered the season. At a league minimum salary, under contract next year (while the rest of the mid-20s tweeners are not -- unless Dermott is a tweener and not a bottom pairing guy), Burroughs will compete for a spot on next year's team.rats19 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 07, 2022 8:34 amMcIntyre said last night that Burroughs earned his place in the lineup and that injury should not let him lose that spot. The interview was after the first period or maybe before the start even. However I took it that it was his ast work that earned him the spot not last nights game.UWSaint wrote: ↑Thu Apr 07, 2022 8:51 amI think its funny McIntyre thinks a single game "earned" a spot. I’d rather see rathbone in hunt or dermott could sit a game for crying out loud if not Burroughs

I reckon the slow cook in Abby has done nothing short of wonders for the kid. Remember he was up for games and didn't look anywhere near to NHL ready as recently as early this season.
Let him finish up this season on the farm then lets see where he's at in September
