Dangling carrots for the blob shark to surface is a favourite of Chefs. These are the simple rules:
Rob Blake overrated
Holland sucks
American’s are better than Canadians
BenningBuilt
Gillis drafting
Byfield and Turcotte are busts
Patrick and Lafrenierre are busts
Seider and Raymond
Holland drafting Zadina and Broberg
Benning’s great drafting
The list is truly endless

There’s like twelve people here. What the hell else am i going to talk about? The HT is right in the shitter. Worst it’s ever been here. Try and have a decent debate or conversation and the thread gets torpedoed. Sure I take the bait sometimes but is it necessary for all of us to douse every thread in gas?Cousin Strawberry wrote: ↑Sun Mar 27, 2022 12:24 pm Blob takes the hook every single time too

Corn and Topper have both brought it up. Lever now.

We're a quality over quantity message board. These 12 odd people are far more interesting to read than the Sea of HF posters who flood the GDTs with "yes" and "give me a break" posts throughout a game

Re: GDT: Canucks @ Stars 4pm pst mar 26 snp
That is a key point. There is only so much you can talk about after a game. For the most part we all saw the same game and there are only so many things you can discuss.donlever wrote: ↑Sun Mar 27, 2022 5:58 amYeah...that's not going to fly with me I'm afraid.5thhorseman wrote: ↑Sun Mar 27, 2022 1:09 amIt means he's getting a reaction. It's already monotonous and one of the reasons I'm not around as much of late.
There is rarely a good debate (except maybe when it comes to Putin). There is usually a start and then it becomes name calling and insults. Heaven forbid there is a different opinion.

While the quality over quantity commentary rings true you are on the precipice, imesho, of #BenningBuilt becoming the CC variant of the yes and give me a break comments you denote.Cousin Strawberry wrote: ↑Sun Mar 27, 2022 12:40 pm We're a quality over quantity message board. While some find it humorous to taunt Blob for their pleasures and amusement with these continuing pronouncements I can comfortably state that others here are not as entertained.
I venture to say the site perhaps loses/does not gain new posters based on the overcooking of the same or similar gags and the resultant mini-flame wars.
If that is what we are about here so be it.
I'm just a minor pawn in the CC machine and the site existed for many years without me and would surely continue to do so.
For fear of self aggrandizing and personal flaggelation I do, however, have some substance to offer (irrespective of the fact I care little for the team and know nothing about hockey) and this GDHTMB can be a better place with my presence (as well as that of others...the missing elite if you will, although I'll be the first to admit I am only secondarily aware of the hows and whys in terms of the departure of some of the misplaced).
Unfortunately the same gag can become old and tiresome which has, could and might continue to (to reiterate, this is imesho with respect to others besides myself) result in absences and deferrals.
I'm pretty sure posters here besides donlever would agree with that notation.
If not, I've misinterpreted certain things these past several months.
I make these statements only as a commentary.
Not as a condemnation nor a threat.
It is, after all, a free message board world and I simply reside in it.

To be fair, we're like a senior's home here... we've had at least a few of the elite go tits up.
And unfortunately some have experienced personal tragedy.
We lost some good men in 2011.
Others have been lost due to the rebuild.
Also we tend to give the bum's rush to the riffraff... we always have.
(wouldn't want to become like CDC/HF/Reddit wot?)
It's true that the inside jokes are over the top though.
And it's true that we push each other's buttons too much.
Yes, you're right, I can definitely see outsiders being too intimidated to join.
Although over the last couple of years quality posters such as Meg, Curm, and Dickie
... managed to find the wherewithal.
But... as always Donny... you make a good point.
So here's the deal: Stick around and help us be all we can be!
It's one of your many gifts my friend.

And here I've been....chortling away in blissful ignorance...all the while people are getting sick of it all
Well I guess we're gonna need to compartmentalize the Blob goading. What else will we talk about though?

To be fairrr....
This hasn't just been a one-sided vacuum. There's BenningBuilt and then there's been Elmer for the last 8+ years too.
At times it's been humorous, at times tiresome too. There aren't enough people around or enough effort to generate enough quality discussion. So these two have been driving most of it for years.
Not a personal attack on either Dude or Blob. Just the truth.

Personally I believe, until other subjects arise or continue, that similar conversations can ensue/resume without (as much) of the taunting for the simple sake of the act. I mean we're a bunch of Type A egocentric males here....we're going to ride each other's asses...it's inevitable.
But...everything (except Cuz's weed intake) in moderation is generally the healthiest avenue.
There is no reason debate can not continue, for instance, regarding the comparable between Bennings drafting prowess and UFA failures and the opinions of all regarding those subjects...and beyond.
But if...every...single...fucking...thread (admitted hyperbole to make my point) devolves into the same....fucking...jokes...and...jabs the opportunity for tedium to breed is ripe.
As an aside, this is a Canuck message board but also a hockey site.
It is interesting to me that (as far as I know) not one word was posted regarding AO's recent ascension into the #3 position in all time goals.
I mean Dude is going to pass Gordie freaking Howe next year in 400 fewer games.
It is also a legit possibility he passes Gretzky in a similar number of games played to the GO.
He has an outside chance at 1000 goals!
Most here, I presume, would have guessed 894 would not be acheived again, at least in our lifetimes?
This is of zero interest to us?
