Bruce is a quality coach. Team still makes mistakes in their own end but I’d rather see mistakes out of effort than the team laying back in a shell.
Push the pace. Brucey is a quality coach. Might want to lock him in for another year or two at seasons end

You do realize that you’re comparing a 1st line center to a defenseman right?Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Tue Mar 15, 2022 8:37 pm We might have the shittiest Hughes brother.
Still a great player but Jack is the best player on the ice tonight. Younger Brother is destroying Quinn’s numbers at the same age.
What a family though. Sick talent. These guys are going to be the wheel on the Chef’s US National team if there is ever a best on best.

The Canucks shouldn't feel too good about that win as the final score wasn't indicative of how the game looked. They weren't the better team so much as they have the better goaltending.
The Devil's were dangling through the Canucks defense like I haven't seen in a while.

I meant the youngest brother Luke in Michigan. He’s burying Quinn’s numbers there at the same age. He is a D man.Mëds wrote: ↑Tue Mar 15, 2022 11:47 pmYou do realize that you’re comparing a 1st line center to a defenseman right?Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Tue Mar 15, 2022 8:37 pm We might have the shittiest Hughes brother.

I wonder who has the shittiest Tkachuk? Ottawa or Calgary. I’m sure whoever it is said team is horribly depressed about it

(1) Goaltending is part of a team, and I would bet Demko wouldn't have been too happy with the goals. The Graves goal was pretty weak, the Hughes goal was a change up muff, and the rebound goal was all on Demko for pulling the pad back while he tried to cover. While its hard to call the Hughes goal "weak" given it was so bizarre, Demko wasn't reacting to Hughes but predicting deke all the way and Hughes read it. A bad game? No. A stellar game? No.Cousin Strawberry wrote: ↑Wed Mar 16, 2022 5:09 am The Canucks shouldn't feel too good about that win as the final score wasn't indicative of how the game looked. (2) Yes, the Devils used their speed to take it to the Canucks on many occasions. But did they have more chances than the Canucks when the game mattered? I don't think its was all that close -- the worst the Canucks got in the game were when chances were traded. Many of the Devils threats were the results of a tactical decision to forecheck and pinch rather than clog the transition zone. That approach will always result in chances against, but the Canucks created way more last night than they would have had without it. There were several shifts where the Devils D looked like the Canucks D circa 2018.
(3) Not responding to the post, but sharing my thoughts watching the game last night (which I've had many times over the past couple months) -- Tanner Pearson is not a bad hockey player at all. This group is often cold on the guy, because he's not the fleetest and because he's streaky. But when you are adding complements to the core, you can do a lot worse that a guy who can play with skilled players by having decent zone IQ, a willingness to throw the puck at the net, win his share of one on one battles, isn't soft on the puck, and is better than average without the puck (whether its possessed by a teammate or the other team).
