Another good effort, another win.

6 points out of a playoff spot.

Most importantly, Canucks hockey is fun to watch again. :)

When they make the playoffs this has gotta be one of the shortest rebuild windows in recent history. I don’t count the rangers cause they had legit assets to sell for a retool.

After seeing and hearing the way Bruce Boudreau carries himself, it's hard to believe T Green wasn't axed ages ago. He had a short span of success then when things got tough later in his tenure, it's like he almost took it out on the players. Demoted them because of one or two rough games.
The guy is far more suited to coach junior or the minors. Most of the press are saying he'll get another NHL gig in no time. That just means, "Change the subject, I don't want to talk about him anymore".

Notice the Cane's forecheck, they skate through the opposing player, they do not attack the opposing player's stick or the puck. Basic, focus on the opposing player's core.

Vancouver weathered the early going, forcing the Cane's to skate until the back to back's caught up to them.

Burroughs may be the only Canuck D capable of hitting along the boards and creating a turnover.

Ref's letting teams play has been refreshing to see of late.

Interesting that one criteria Benning had in damn near all his acquisitions is a quick release hard shot but that Green's offensive failure was over passing to set up the perfect shot instead of instinctively firing away with their natural ability. It is basic personnel management that you yse your employees greatest strengths.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Canes remind me of that first year vegas team, just crazy pressure on the puck all the time.

I'd add at least Schenn to that list.
Schenn's kind of slow but he's a warrior hitting along the boards and in front on the net.
In the dying seconds of last night's game he was boxing out Svechnikov (who was trying to use his beef to gain position in front of Demko) and he got under Svechnikov's shin. The wily vet is the Canucks best defenseman in front of the net.

Frustratingly, what I've been watching is few hits along the boards creating turnovers. Yes, they may be good solid hits, but without separating the puck and creating a turnover, the only hope is for a cumulative effect that benefits later in the game. Not necessarily a bad thing.

The big guy Tyler Myers looking good wearing the A. He's pretty well spoken when speaking to the media, made a good play on the 2nd Petey goal and was on the ice the whole time defending the lead late in the game. :D
yup, the war giraffe is playing much better this season
And even better since the departure of Green and Elmer. Kinda like Boeser and Pettersson. :mex:

Easy…. I cheer for the jersey amigo. During a great five year run pretty much all of us enjoyed, the Chef threw tantrums and pissed his pants regularly while the Canucks won Presidents Trophies and five playoff rounds.
