GDT HIDEOUS HAWKS at Vancouver NOV 21/21 7pm Pacific, 9pm Saskie time.
Tradition is a bitch, so here we go.
Greener bought himself a job for the weekend, but alas, the fickle fans of Van are neither forgiving, nor forgetfull.
Win, and you may still have a job.
Lose, and the wrath of fans shall be remorseless and relentless.
"Aye, skate and you may lose. Play and you’ll live, at least a while.
And dying in your beds many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance,
just one chance to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they’ll never take our freedom!"
-Almost William Wallace

And a decent third pairing guy on the left side that can give you some hard minutes. Mix in a solid third line centre that can actually pass the puck and kill penalties and a forward with some snarl that can actually play and we are set. So how hard is it to acquire another four decent to good players with no cap space and no assets anyone would be interested in. They trade the 2022 pick and I might be done.Cousin Strawberry wrote: ↑Sun Nov 21, 2021 10:10 amThis team needs a top pair right side dman for Christ's sake. Pat Quinn acquired Dave Babych, Gerald Diduck and Jyrkki Lumme for a 2nd, a 4th and Tom Kurvers. He rebuilt the blue line in a year for table scraps. Meanwhile he bent over the Blues twice and picked up useful vets like Gelinas, Hunter, Glynn and McIntyre on waivers or at minimal cost.
And he made one huge blunder in that whole time. Protecting Tit Face Tom Fergus over Igor in the waiver draft. Like anyone wanted Tom the tit. You still had Semenov and Carson. Still burns my ass to this day. Probably would have had at least one cup and a happy Pavel.
Just win. It’s way too early to be out of it. Long hill to climb but get on it ffs.

I will give Travis some credit for finally....finally utilizing Podkolzin properly and putting him in a more favorable position to succeed.
We're seeing way less scrubbery and way more young up and comers of late. It must be just fucking killing the throatster

This game and the previous one were custom ordered for a Canuck's comeback in what to date has been a mixed up, uninspired start to the season.
Hopefully a dominant performance tonight brings confidence back to some players that are obviously in need of a jump start. We are still missing two decent bottom six forwards and at least one solid defenseman, oh well, make the best of it. Other teams do. Buck up Travis, get your barn in order.

Travis Green on Podkolzin and his role..Brendan Batchelor@BatchHockey
Thatcher Demko starts for the Canucks. No changes to the lineup “as of now”, per Travis Green. Alex Chiasson missed practice yesterday.

Let's just get the 2 points - I don't care how ugly or how epic, just get the 2 points.
