GDT: Canucks host Stars - Nov 7 - 7 PM - SNET

Post by donlever »

Good morning Travis...a little bit of the quote below works if you could see fit.

Please and thank you.

"The glory of sport is witnessing a well-coached team perform as a single unit, striving for a common goal and ultimately bringing distinction to the jersey the players represent."

Dick Vitale

....just win baby!

Also Dick Vitale.

Donny, that must have been at a time when players actually cared about the jersey, now it is all about the money.

I predict a win, we all breath easier and then followed up by a 500 road trip.

Will EP finally show up?

So how are we do’n in the post-HockeyGauds Hobey Baker and Shot Gun Jake era?!

It’s funny to see the fickle Van fans on here ready to quit on the team already.
I gots news for ya…it’s fucking raining on a Sunday and there ain’t a hell of a lot else to do…

There was a time, back in the day I ran these them boards with my superior hockey intellect and advanced stats…

This is basically a new team, it will take time to gel. EP40 is 30 plus preseason/camp games behind everyone and plays like a guy coming off of major wrist surgery.

Yes, it’s a long road back up to playoff contention butt, what the hell else they gonna do? Tank like a MakeBeLeaf or cOiler? I think not. This team is a tough one and I still like them.

Green learn’n them to play defence first is not a bad thing, it’sa playoff thing (just look at the above mentioned teams in the post-season).
Far better team D than the last few seasons.
The PP can’t be afraid to take risks of a shorthanded goal against…which happened too much in the past. The risk/reward of a speciality team scoring with the man advantage is greater (I should be a fack’n coach :mex: )

No prediction today, just looking forward to a buncha pissed of guys that are tired of losing one goal games…time for the next level…
I love every move Jim Benning makes 8-)

I'm still attempting to recall the hyper-intellectual and advanced analytics posting(s) our friendly neighborhood Arachnida refers to.

Perhaps those offerings were made during my hiatus?

Would that be true my little joint legged invertebrate?

Thanks Corny!

The rebuild is over. We got rid of the dead weight (Erickison, Roussel, Beagle, Virtanen, Gaudette).

We all agree and like the players on this team. I haven’t read anyone find a scapegoat yet (except for Petey, he’s just one player though coming off a major shooting/passing injury).

If this team does not make the playoffs (still too early) then obviously it’s the coach(es) and although I’m not a full on hard on Greenie apologist like TopTop  I still like him too. I’m all in for a fresh change there because this is a pretty good team personnel wise and I didn’t go into rebuild exile just to make a comeback and read impaired impatient impish comments by posters who change their names just to confuse me…I came back to win a Cup baby! ™

Ummmm yeah Donnie, that’s exactly what happened…someone had to step up in your absence to fill the hockey intelligence void

8-) ;) :rockin:

Your back now so I can return to being the CC resident cheerleader (or the the one that does cheerleaders?! :wow: )

Ha...don't count on me for cerebral, hockey related comments.

My current incarnation at this here establishment is to play the role of resident NHL dunce.

You'll have to steer away from the rear entry vaccination game and step your intellectual hockey posting shtick back up a few levels once again.

Brendan Batchelor@BatchHockey
PP1:
Boeser
Miller-Horvat-Pettersson
Hughes

PP2:
Pearson
Garland-Podkolzin-Höglander
OEL
I did want to see Hughes back on the first unit. The mobility he has is so useful, not as many plays die. He helps keep possession in the O-zone.

Lately a lot of PP goals from the opposing team was on a shot from the point, QH does not have a hard shot so maybe switch him and OEL for a few games and see if that gets the PP going.
