GDT: Canucks host rags Nov 2 - 7pm - SN1
First off..... Fuck the rangers.
Let's see what a little time off has done for the team and the coaching. Will we see the same efforts and systems in place? Will Green be feeling the pressure to keep his job and try to mix things up a little?
At least the rangers have a worse power play than us (16.1 vs 18.8), but their PK is a little better (83.3 vs 72).
Should be close one, but we better not lose to these fuckers.
GO CANUCKS GO!

Re: GDT: Canucks host rags Nov 2 - 7pm - SN1
So did I read correctly that the Canucks have changed their system to focus on defensive responsibilities AND they have dramatically cut down on high danger chances against (statistically speaking)?
The problem is I read it all fried and can't find the article now LOL
If this is so and is the reason why the boys are struggling offensively, it's a step in the right direction. Th offense will come once they figure out that the chances they get they need to bury not flub

Interesting take CS.
A little more effort throughout the entire line-up and maybe even more structure. They have been all over the place. Get your legs moving, Petey.

You can see it just by watching. Honestly, have we been blown out? Sure, the Buffalo game was disappointing, but I remember it was just a really bad second half of the game. Detroit buried their few chances and we didn't bury our many.Cousin Strawberry wrote: ↑Tue Nov 02, 2021 8:00 am So did I read correctly that the Canucks have changed their system to focus on defensive responsibilities AND they have dramatically cut down on high danger chances against (statistically speaking)?

Occasionally we've seen it revert back to the old Green system, but the analytics do prove otherwise.
What's hurt is the usual lack of depth... with the bottom 6, go figure.
The biggest culprit however, is the top players especially Petey and Brock, have been absolutely awful both in their own zone and not producing at all to win those close games.
Next, is the continuation of terrible special teams. The Oilers only beat us with 2 PP goals, but they're going at an unsustainable 45% clip. On our PP, nothing is really happening even with the vaunted Chiasson in front of the opposition net.
Finally, the FO% is brutal. No one can win a draw and starting without the puck most times exacerbate the poor special teams and not having the puck enough to generate offence.
