Apparently MacEwan KO’d him (listening on the radio)
Well, sort of. It was more he fell face first on the ice. No intent by MacEwen. Up till then it was a decent bout.

So, who improved their chances of making the team today? (Only listened to the final 5 minutes due to work)

I'd say Petan, Rathbone, McEwen, rose above th scrubbery.

Podkolzin looks better every time I see him and should play on the big team. He's ready

Green should have given Podkolzin even more ice time. Rathbone played very little after the first period. Petan was great.

Pulled from hockey data base and elite prospects

Lockwood - 5’-11” 172 lbs

Tyler Madden- 5’-11” 152 lbs

No word of a lie

If Lockwood the mosquito is same height but 20 lbs up on Doyle’s Boi Madden I’m trying to figure out which insect that is skinnier than a mosquito best describes Doyle’s Boi Madden who is in the minors and Lockwood isn’t

Macewen is a legit heavyweight, he just needs to get a meaner streak in the corners.

I listen to Bob Stauffer (intermission guest with Dan) fairly regularly out here, he's the best local hockey guy.

His take on how well JB did in the OEL trade is bang on. On his show today (or yesterday maybe?) he was saying that Van moving the pick that took Dylan Guenther was an excellent gamble as he is by no means a sure fire top level talent. As he intimated, he figures OEL is still an elite player and having them toss in a talented top 6 wing like Garlic was brilliant

I think Petan is always an offensive wizard in training camp whenever he goes to a new team. Then when he cracks the roster he doesn't make anything happen in the real games and sort of fades out.

I haven't seen him play like this before. He's always seemed to be a perimeter kind of player with a decent shot but this version, he's positionally sound and making smart plays all over the ice. The goal isnt all that relevant to my assessment either
