If he gets his shit together the lotto line will be awesome. He and Petey carried Brock last season and now Brock and Petey are carrying him. Nice game all around. Their break outs and defence has really improved the last three games. Defensemen only scoring against Marky? Hughes goal was special. The team is looking more like we expected, but it may be too late? Maybe the owner’s supportive tweets will be the beginning of something - we can hope.
Yah; Miller's game and timing are off. He's nothing like last year. I saw him recover a couple of his own mistakes tonight but your right, he's off his
dynamic game from last year. Benn seems fine. Might be because he was a bit sick but I really think he's just temporarily (hopefully), lost his confidence. Sure didn't expect that from him. Very intense dude. High highs, low lows.

Travis Green Post-game..
Travis Green - We had a lot of buy-in tonight
--
Green: I think when we're playing our best, we want to play an aggressive game. Takes a lot of work, a lot of effort, a lot of details. We played hard tonight, we played fast. Thought we committed to both sides of the puck.
We know we've got some offensive minded guys on the back-end... we need our D to contribute
--
Green on vote of confidence: It's always nice to hear the support you have from ownership. There's always been communication from myself, Jim and Francesco. We know how badly our owners want to win. How badly they love the team. We're all in this together. It's nice to hear.
--
Green on penalty kill: Our guys were sharp. Baummer does a good job with our PKers. They're smart guys, take a lot of pride in it. They study it and did a good job tonight.
Quinn Hughes Post-game..
Hughes "Obviously we needed a win bad. The last two games we felt like we could have won"
"Marky is playing really good. Coming into the game we knew like we had to get alot of shots. I read that play. I dont think he saw me. I jumped in..."
--
Hughes on dressing casual coming to the game, "Maybe that's the most promising thing to come out of the win. Just to be able to throw on a jacket and come to the rink"
Tyler Myers & Thatcher Demko Post -game..
Myers, "Obviously Marky's played 2 really good games for them to start this series. What I liked from our group is we didnt deviate from our system, we didnt try to force plays...it was a good win. To finally break Marky"
--
Myers re game day dress code: "We made a thing that we all had to wear work boots"

Nice to see Olaf playing well. That was great poise to hold on to the puck until he saw the open ice to hit Jake on the fly. Putting Tkachuk on his ass is quite impressive as well. :P
I don't mind it like it when Edler raises the elbow to protect himself from a hit. Seem to recall he learned it under Gillis's watch. :D
Lucic falls down, gives up chance --- https://streamable.com/61fvcr
I am surprised ppl want to expose Myers in the expansion draft and lose him for nothing. He's actually a pretty decent puck carrier and for a guy his size, he has some dangle with skating and long reach, a bit like Super Mario. *hehe* Ppl forget that he won the Calder and was an offensive D-man early in his career, so he does have some skill. If our backend gets healthy again, Greener should pair Myers with a stay-at-home guy like Benn again, but give Myers the green light more often to rush the puck up the ice. :P

Other Tidbits:

- It was interesting that HNIC pointed out we were playing with much better structure and defensively, playing with that diamond formation to clog up the middle. We're not good enuff to play fire wagon hockey like the 80s Oilers, so we have to play good defense to keep games close, but we do have some skill to find some goals to break open games.

- I liked Pearse throwing a bit of a dirty hit clipping Leivo. Take that u dirty ape! :P
- Looks like Leivs is playing on the 4th line there. Greener luved him; he would have played lots with BoHo or at the very least play on the 3rd with Sutts/Gauds and be a mainstay on 2nd unit PP. Heck, he'd get minutes with Petey if he was playing well and would never play on the 4th line. Questionable move to take Calgary over here. My observations from the outside is he's good buds with Tanny and just followed him. Oh well, take that u filthy traitor! :P

- For what it's worth, the Eriksson-Beags-Virts line looked decent. They rarely got hemmed in and had a few chances.

- We looked like Vegas that game, can get lots of shots and outplay a team, but don't get very many goals. :?

I was thinking, maybe give JT his own line and maybe we can spread out the scoring. Maybe a Miller-Gauds-Virts line, he can help the 2 younger guys out and take advantage of their skill.

Maybe give Petey & Brock someone like MacEwen. A big body who can go to the net and dig/retrieve pucks for them.

Doc will be PMing you a quiz a little later after he climbs off the nanny

Was that Juolevi's best game? I guess we can put the old "only played 6 minutes" asterisk to bed. He may have been Vancouver's best defensive dman even. The kid has turned it around big time

The Hughes goal tells you all you need to know about how Vancouver has been playing offence this season.

Quinn has the puck in downtown Phil Espositoville, looks to pass to the bottom of the circle and everyone in the building believes it.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

I’m not sure he’s turned it around big time. He looks decent though. Not great, but he’s sound positionally, and he can flat out pass the puck. Seems to have an active stick in the D zone and he showed a bit of truculence last night knocking Tkachuk on his ass. It’s nice to see him finally showing he can play in the league. His skating still needs to take a quantum leap forward to really improve his game though.

I agree he has improved. I’d just like to see the skating improve too.
