I didn't say he kneeled figuring to get a payday. I said kneeling led to a payday that he wouldn't have otherwise received. I don't think he imagined that it would receive so much attention.

I don't want politics in my sports. These players (NBA, NHL, NFL, MLB, all of them) pulling stunts like this won't help solve the supposed issues they highlighted. What annoys me even more are the sports journalists writing all the crap about the NHL missing the boat on making a difference and being on the wrong side of history. Moreover, there a LOT of things that take priority over sports, but we don't stop participating in those lower value things, do we? My children take priority over sport, doesn't mean I don't tell them to stop bugging me while I'm watching the Canucks.

And what's Kane say about the NBA's relationship with China and what that says about the priorities of sport v. human rights....
