Green and Brown need to get to work

This is only back to squared one but it doesn't look too good
Green and Brown could employ a more colorful approach.
They should lure Red Berenson out of retirement, he did a helluva job with the Michigan Wolverines a coupla years ago.
Great idea Doc. You can only hook so many muskies before that gets boring.

Jake's trying harder this game, but alas not enough. He probably has to start hitting everything that moves to make a difference. He needs to get that.

Soak up the experience boys, back to playing no pressure hockey like games 1 & 2 please.
Trying harder? you’re kidding right?

Who would Green sit for Juolevi? Not seeing it. Don’t get me wrong it’s the right move but Green is a loyalist
Sit Jake or Loui for OJ and go with 7 dee?

Late to posting to this thread today, but in all honesty, this is the first game the Blues deserved to win.

Better puck battles,
Won the boards,
Shut down our PP
Out hustled us to pucks
Won the face offs...

Good game by the Blues.

.... now, to all the haters, keep in mind, we won 5 in a row. Great job boys.. but now we lost 2.

Good teams can lose 2 in a row, Gret teams never lose 3.

We need to sort that shit out.

Call me sentimental but I miss the day when it was acceptable to kick the wife (or the cat) after a big loss.

Sad game because there’s no ZZ top.

If the line-up doesn’t chance significantly, this series looks done.
Maybe not next game, but the one after, which will probably be the last game, should have a chance for future Canuck’s to play and guys they expect will be moving on to sit, just to give the young guys the experience. I’d say Rafferty, Juolevi, and Gaudette should get in a game if they lose the next one.

POST GAME: / Chris Tanev / Jacob Markstrom / JT Miler --------then--Travis Green.

https://www.nhl.com/canucks/video/post- ... /c-5405156 ::just Green; youtube-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXrRc1r ... e=emb_logo
"Obviously if we had the magic formula we would have already done it. We gotta make him play more in his zone than ours and that will go a long way." - Green on how to solve the O'Reilly line
----------
"I don't think anyone thought we'd come into this series and St. Louis would just roll over. Every game's been a battle, every game's been close. It's a fine line between winning and losing. They're upset we lost tonight and they should be. They want to win badly. They're playing fine. I'm not worried about our depth guys. They're fine. I want my guys to play aggressive. I want them to go after people and hit people. I don't think the MacEwen penalty was a penalty, I'm not going to tell MacEwen to stop playing hard." - Green
Nobody wants to throw anyone under the bus. Miller isn't bad. Travis actually says at one point he thought they were better in this game
then the last. Disturbing that Green doesn't sound the slightest bit mad.
I'm really getting sick of the "well they're the Stanley Cup champs for a reason", thing. Some fortitude, determination, would be great.

This is where the leaders on the team will prove vital for the young guns, as Travis Green may not have the proper motivational techniques to do it himself, ala Scotty Bowman styles who'd do some hardcore coaching behind the scenes to get individual players to play at insanity levels to ultimately WIN!

Vets: "settle down guys, we got this, have fun, enjoy these times, these don't last forever, relish it!"

Why does the coach not getting mad make you disturbed?

How does Green getting mad at the presser help the team?

Gohmert wants the coach to start putting his fist through walls, kicking the garbage can over, maybe put Virtanen in a headlock.

The gassed canucks played a gutsy game against one of the top 3 teams in the NHL. How the fuck can you get mad at the kids when they put it all out there.

Game 5 will see a far better and rested canucks team. These kids have heart

Well that might be the only thing that gets through in Jake’s case.

I’ll grant you that the kids played IN a gutsy game.

I’ll also even say they were gassed.....but St Louis was too. They’ve played the same number of games.

I didn’t see them leaving it all out there.

Vancouver is the faster team. Can you explain why St Louis is the team always in delivering the body with multiple forecheckers? The Canucks send in a token flyby. Send them all. Who cares if we only leave one man back. Risk it. If the Blues dmen look up and see a wall of stink whales coming at them and then said wall punishes with a finished check every time the ice will cease to be so tilted in St Loo’s favour.

That’s what leaving it all out there would look like.

I agree. Virtanen has goose eggs across the board and only 11 hits in the 7 games he's played. If he can't score, can't check, and doesn't hit, what is he actually good for? If he wasn't the first pick of the Benning era and was from anywhere but B.C. he'd likely be gone by now.

His nickname needs to change from "Tuna" or "Shotgun" to "Sweetener", as in "the sweetener to move Eriksson's contract to Ottawa".
