Carolina is one of the league’s fastest teams that was publicly called out and pumped up by their coach from a loss to Vegas last game. They are well rested and waiting for what should be an fairly exhausted Canucks team playing back-to-back games on a very long cross-country road trip. Last time they played, Markstrom stood on his head to get a 1-0 shutout. They were outshot badly in that game. Carolina will be pissed because the Canucks stole that last game. The Canucks have no business winning this game or even getting a point. This could get ugly real fast. Carolina could run up the score and SHUTOUT the Canucks. It sounds like the Canucks will be playing their backup, Demko. Really there is no hope. Based on all this, I’ll have to predict the Canucks take this one 5-4 in a shootout.
Looks to be a long day of sports watching and imbibing calories!
Statwise, the canes match up pretty even with us - but we have some momentum building. Should be a close game, but we got this.
Today I'd like to see our PP make some noise and like the Mick said, I'd also be really happy if Brock snaps out his mini-slump. I'm not worried about him, he's a smart kid with the character to work through it.
