This is why I would like to see our own John and John all the time. Have a notion they mat be a little more into it.

Tyler Myers scored the game winner late in the 3rd period as the Canucks won their 7th straight game.

Ok.... so what does your desire to hear “ John and John” have to do with Brendan Batchelor’s call of the goal for AM 650? Enlighten me please if you could

Randorf was from the original ckvu ch13 sportspage. I will always remember that as the best local coverage ever during a time when we only got maybe 20-30 games on tv a year...

“The Page” was great. I recall we looked forward to watching it. Before the days of sports highlights on multiple channels multiple times per day, you were hungry for the recap by the time 11PM rolled around.

Same here- and they just rolled the hockey highlights first and foremost, no breaking it up with other shit.

Ya they knew where their bread wass buttered. Hours of MLB and NFL crap is nothing more than an inconvenience as far as I'm concerned.

Baseball? The fuckin players are sleeping during the games ffs.

NFL? 60 minutes of step-step-tackle....yaaaaaawn. Seriously though . who cant push 3 yards a carry?

NBA? Holy fuck why bother? Start em both off at 100 and let them play the last 5 minutes....good enough

Rogers is absolutely all business right down to the last nickel but I cannot understand if all company criteria was adhered to, why
a small local self sustaining local one hour show at 10 pm pacific time couldn't happen. It could even be done at Rogers Arena.
No cost except for a few essentials which local companies could be found to pay for.
After the hour, programming returns to what it is now.
I'm sure the other Canadian cities feel the same.

Hear! Hear! (Sports shows should limit themselves to interesting sports, such as hockey, curling and association football*. Well, and perhaps some downhill skiing or tennis, but only if there isn't enough hockey footage to fill the entire time frame!)
Baseball? The fuckin players are sleeping during the games ffs.
Hear! Hear! (Who wants to watch a bunch of middle aged men in their pajamas playing stickball? :eh: )
NFL? 60 minutes of step-step-tackle....yaaaaaawn. Seriously though . who cant push 3 yards a carry?
Hear! Hear! (I actually fell asleep at an Iowa State college football game. True story. :mex: )

Hear! Hear! (Sorry, Canada. Not one of your better inventions... :look: )

* football is a game where you use your feet to handle a ball. Let's see how the Cambridge Dictionary defines ball:
"any object in the shape of a sphere, especially one used as a toy by children or in various sports such as tennis and football"

Um-Agree on basketball but, um, I was more thinking a little less toronto bias and our own regional show.
don't want to kill American football or the MBA.
soccer is boring cause they dive so much and there's so many frikin whistles.
wont even get into field hockey with the retarded sticks or the biggest joke that bug game, what's it called? oh ya, cricket.
Women's tennis is good. Nascar is good. Champ car was good when it was around.
can even watch golf in a pinch. Lots of hockey players like golf. Tennis, meh. Has a lot of faults.

To be honest, all these sports are good, but they all require some time commitment on the part of the viewer. Golf and tennis are far more interesting once you've played the game enough to get to the required level of appreciation needed to enjoying viewing. Baseball, football, basketball, soccer (and hockey, if we're not talking about the folks here) are all better after you've watched enough to really understand the game. I've only ever been an occasional baseball viewer, but it's slowly growing on me. I could see getting more into it if I watched a few more games to begin with. ALL sports have their issues to the non-fan. The bottom line is they would not/could not exist if they weren't good*.

Nonetheless: all the hockey highlights, right off the top, just like the Page did, whether it's playoff season in some other sport, or not.

* Hmmm, maybe not. I'd have to be very drunk to watch Nascar
