.One of the more encouraging aspects of this mildly sloppy affair was the play of Demko. His positioning was good as was
his movement. This in itself is very important if this team is taking a big step up this year.
Hughes is amazing but he will give us plenty of scary moments as he did in this game. Amazing acceleration from a near standstill.
If Sutter can stay healthy and energetic for an entire season like he was tonight, that's a bonus and Gawd knows he owes it.
In regards to center, that number four slot will be a battle. Gaudette looked considerably better than the night before but still 50/50
whether he starts the real year here.
Pettersson isn't as rusty as he thinks he is but I would like him to be very wary of predatory activity directed his way. This was an ugly
Oiler squad but he is obviously a player that will get extra attention around the league.
Ferland seems to be a drive to the net guy and who knows if that would be more valuable on the Horvat line or the Pettersson Boesser line.
I think Green might want to take a look at switching Ferland and Miller back and forth a couple of times when Boesser is back.
Virtanen didn't play a big role like he did in Calgary. Guess the back to back was for
conditioning or along those lines.
Holy crap, Goldobin was defensively steller, even phenomenal. He dove once to break up a play.
He may well stick.
