Nice push at the end to make it look respectable.

You see all the stars in Tampa and JT Miller gets lost in the mix.
He got some serious skills and he's a bull down low. I dare say he was the best playmaker on that line tonight.
We should have some good offensive depth this year.

Absolutely.

Oh well. Among the younguns, Rafferty and Teves looked good.
And of course Bo and JT were great, looks like they're developing some chemistry already.

Hell yeah, JT Miller always had amazing assist stats, assuming because he's a superb playmaker with good vision, notably on the powerplay.
Keep hearing he and Horvat got immediate chemistry.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Good to see Bachman taking care of business and working overtime.

In Calgary Jake was fantastic, Tons of speed. Effortless acceleration.
Stecher was in over his head. The only break I give him is he had NO help. Still see the same type of mistakes though.
In Victoria Gaudette was totally embarrassed by getting hit (beautifully) with his head down, leading directly to a Calgary goal.
The hit was clean / perfect. Someone nastier and his season could've been over, right there. Not encouraging.
Maybe some chemistry building between Miller and Horvat in the latter stages. The six million dollar goof flukes in
a goal then has to rest is big mop and tired, worn-out body over the crossbar.

The suicide pass didn't help. Tough game for Gaud overall, a little discouraging but still time to show better.
Weird game for both Rafferty and Teves who both stood out for being really awful and really good at times throughout.
Too bad we couldn't see the other game just for the Jake show in the late stages. Saw highlights and don't want to get too hyped on him (first goal just bad goaltending) but the 2 rushes certainly bring some thoughts to mind. There were many instances last year when he picked up the puck with speed, barrelling his way toward net and it just gave the sense that something big might happen. Even though 95% of the time nothing really materialized, for me just the possibility was enough reason to not give up on the kid. The thought was with more comfort, confidence and poise that should naturally come with time, he will eventually convert a higher percentage of those rushes. Again really hate to make too much from a preseason game but the poise and patience he showed in the OT winner is not something we've seen before. To have that kind of "game-breakability" on the bottom 6 is quite a luxury to have even at a low conversion rate, and could be a great 3rd unit weapon in OT's. Can only hope it's not a flash but a springboard for bigger things..fingers crossed.

A garbage goal from Loui:

These used to be his bread and butter before joining the Canucks, crashing the crease and picking up the garbage.
Maybe he can get back to that role somehow? I mean, if we can't seem to find any takers.

I Would't call that crashing; More like running into. It's alright. Everyone sees things in a different light.

Loui with the pillowy soft hands finessed it in. He looked unreal last night and worth every penny.

Of the supposed regulars, I was not overly impressed with Benn. Agree with Nuckertuzzi, Raffle had moments good and bad, but didn't expect anything else.
Time to clear out the roster and let the big kids get their shit together.

Are you being sarcastic? Because I thought Loui was understated but very good last night and even in the scrimmages. The Brown Wizard wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 7:24 am Loui with the pillowy soft hands finessed it in. He looked unreal last night and worth every penny.
That kind of game is his bread and butter. Unfortunately, it's his production that fell off a cliff the last 3 years.
Yeah, I've seen enough of the kids. Some are so far from the big club and some will be never-weres.
We need to see the big boys start gelling now and roar out of the gate in the regular season.

No actually...maybe a little about the pillowy-ness (trying to set Mick off is kind of a hobby of mine)but overall he looked as good as I've seen him in stinky whale blueHank wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 10:40 amAre you being sarcastic?
