How can a coach of an NHL team not know how to use his timeouts. Mick, your thoughts?micky107 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2019 12:27 pmYa, I guess that's an area where Green has to learn to use his time-outs. Edler, Horvat, etc.Hockey Widow wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2019 12:12 pmGreen was doing what so many have clamoured for all year. Give the kids a chance to develop on the ice right? I had the same question too though, at that point in the game you have to protect the point.
Any one's game if you can get to OT.
The other thing was, Marky was gassed.

Green did use his time out, on a coaches challenge for goaltender interference. Thus he could not call one in the last minute to rest whoever.

I thought it was for the offside, which it clearly wasn't.Hockey Widow wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2019 2:43 pm Green did use his time out, on a coaches challenge for goaltender interference. Thus he could not call one in the last minute to rest whoever.

You know what. I think they couldn't review the last goal because he had used it (which I forgot, thanks Wids), but the refs forgot and war room5thhorseman wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2019 3:07 pmI thought it was for the offside, which it clearly wasn't.Hockey Widow wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2019 2:43 pm Green did use his time out, on a coaches challenge for goaltender interference. A complete screw up.
Green had his least effective forward
line on the ice combined with the worst defensive pairing.

The war room can review any goal scored in the last minute. They called for a review. The on ice officials called it an official offside review. The Canucks didn’t call for it as they had no time out, but as Garret pointed out, they didn’t need it because if you lose an offside challenge you don’t lose your time out, you get a penalty. Confusing.
But suffice to say the war room called for the review. I believe they knew they fucked up on the goaltender interference and were grasping at straws to try and do the Canucks a solid.
