QuHu - the good, wheels and confidence to use them, very good with the space of 3 on 3.
- the bad, rushed his play, I'll give him game 1rookie jitters for that
- bad defensively, what would be the response if Brown hadn't shanked off the post?
- his passes are harder than some player's shots (HW), but his shot is lighter than most players passes.
- using him in the shootout was a publicity stunt in a circus act
Hopefully , his defensive skills will improve as he becomes accustomed to the NHL and the team.
His shot and passes are already more accurate than Sketchers and he should be able to replace him on the PP.
Definitely the game was entertaining with no pressure to win. Fun to watch OT and the Shootout . Agree it was pure publicity to sell seats for next year . Bring on the clowns !

The future's so bright....
Would this have something to do with the Genius?
Ronnings Ghost, your thoughts?
Hard to say anything definite about the future until it arrives. As I have repeatedly said, the real test of Benning's alleged hockey management genius is the performance of the product on the ice. What season do you want to use? Previous suggestions of using the 2018-2019 season have not worked out favourably for one prominent Benning advocate. How about 2019-2020? That will be first season in which all the Canucks players will be on Benning contracts, playing for a Benning hired coach. What result would you say is consistent with genius-level hockey management for 5 seasons, and six off seasons ? The largest single block of voters on this board said that nothing short of the conference finals in 2020 would be consistent with a genius-level rebuild.

Well the future looks bright to almost everyone here.
Conference finals in 2020 bright, Doc ?
2020 as the year they hit the conference finals or the year the season starts that they make the conference finals?
It was clearer in the original poll, I think. Making the conference finals in calendar 2020, i.e. the latter half of the 2019/2020 season, was the lowest bar for genius-level management performance in the re-build that most posters on this board were willing to accept.
