Markstrom to start.

Virtanen game time decision.

That’s all I got right now.

I want revenge!

Lines at morning skate:

Roussel-Horvat-Virtanen
Leivo-Pettersson-Boeser
Goldobin-Gaudette-Pearson
Eriksson-Beagle-Motte
(Schaller, Granlund)

Edler-Stecher
Sautner-Schenn
Pouliot-Biega
Brisebois-Tanev

Virtanen will play. Tanev close, day to day. Baertschi close to returning. His goal is to get back to finish the season. This surprises me. A long, long rest maybe the better route. Wonder if the Canucks are just playing along because I heard they were close to shutting him down for the season.

Lockwood and Hughes get under way at 2:00. We will know before our puck drop if plane reservations to Vancouver are made. And if they are he’ll actually get here an hour earlier because of daylight savings.

Is it bad to hope Hughes and Lockwood play well but for Michigan to lose?

I think we'll play better than the last vegas game but we probably lose, they are a vet team.

Canucks only beat the vegas knights once in 7 games and that was in a shootout, Oct 24, 2018, top penalty killer Markus Granlund got the shootout goal.
Where Bo Horvat scored twice.

I think I'm more excited about the plane reservations than the game!

Hank, did Blobbee ever tell you we got Lockwood with the 3rd round pick in the Sutter trade?

Lockwood scored his 16th goal in the 3-2 OT loss to the Gophers yesterday. A very tenacious player!

Looks to be foundational.

Couldn't we have gotten Lockwood with our (better) pick (55th overall)?

Maybe we could've traded Bonino for something else.

The Canucks wouldn’t have made they trade if they were not confident Lockwood would have been there with the Pens 3rd. Bonino the American was never gonna resign here when he hit UFA status. Sutter is a better player than Bonino.

Win Benning, always

More importantly - Bennings drafting acumen? Lockwood? Your thoughts?

Never had a problem with his drafting, and I've consistently said as much.

Benning's trading acumenn? Sutter? Gudbranson? Prust? Vey? Your thoughts?

Dare we get into his negotiating?

Sutter - Win Benning, both Lockwood and Sutter are still property of Vancouver. All the assets traded to Pittsburgh are no longer with that club. Fantastic asset longevity management by Jim

Gudbranson - young D-men are expensive (see Reinhart, Hamonic, Larsson etc) that being said for what we gave up - Asplund and Tweener Journeyman with an Attitude problem, no biggie . Win Benning. Pearson is a serviceable asset

Vey - a former Desjardins player, coach knows player, player knows coach. T’was unfortunate he had some bizzarro family issues away from the arena. Trade may not have been made if Gillis left Benning with some, SOME players who were middle aged and younger

Prust - we had a major distraction in the line-up with major substance abuse issues. It’s an unfortunate situation where Jim had to pay a price to get rid of a serious off ice problem

Win!
