Yup, he is just too small and too weak. It would be okay if he can put up points...
But, but, but... the local media and analytics guys say Troy is currently our BEST defenceman, ahead of even Tanev and Edler

And they also now think very highly of Gudbranson... by putting him on a level with Biega and ahead of MDZ, but behind Pouliot

BROCK!!!

I think just like Topper has repeatedly pointed out, that's the flaw of the advanced stats.

I remember reading the article where they were praising Stecher for his high zone-entry rate. But the numbers do not show what happens after Stecher carries the puck over.

Exactly. Advanced stats. Pfft... it ain't all it's cracked up to be.

They also keep pointing out how Goldobin is best on the team at making linemates better because his numbers are tops in that particular area. But most of us can plainly see that his frequent partner, EP is truly elite at making others better.

If Goldy doesn't have the puck in the neutral or offensive zone to dangle with, he in facts makes his team worse. Who is going to forecheck, backcheck, win board battles, play defence, get the puck out with clean zone exits, etc.? Not Goldy, that's for sure.
