Pettersson in some great company:
Elias Pettersson is the eighth player since 1984-85 to score 13+ goals through 20 career games:
@_EPettersson (13)
Evgeni Malkin (13)
Alex Ovechkin (15)
Teemu Selanne (16)
Eric Lindros (15)
Rob Gaudreau (14)
Dimitri Kvartalnov (14)
Joe Sakic (13)#NHLStats

Motte had himself a real good game. He distanced himself from the other 2 tiny bubbly boys in my books. He was quick on the puck and finished his checks all night. Working his ass off and chipping in on the scoresheet. Good game

Depth players chipping in today, Gaud, Gagner, MOTTE.

Superstar Petey doing superstar thangs.
Markstrom often has a good game or three after getting a rest and some mental focus time.

I wouldn't play him more than 4 straight if I was Green and never even consider it on a back-to-back.

Why should they trade Pettersson?

Tryamkin already arrived. He hated it and he went back to Russia

Both Markstrom & Nillson seem to work best when they can step back & reset after 3 -6 games. Hopefully they can both stay healthy

If fans can see this why can’t Green?

I am glad we have been patient on JV.

Bingo. Also, Nilsson and Demko was injured and Bachman isn't even a good AHL goalie at this point.

Green had no other choice with so many games to play and so little vets to rely on. The alternative would potentially destroy the young guys' psyche even more. And I'm sure TG likes the pay of an NHL head coach and wants to keep this job for as long as possible.

Here was Markstrom's chance to prove he could handle the load of a true #1. It just confirmed what we all knew from Day 1... he isn't a starter, just a good NHL backup.

Will disagree here, know that Markstrom needs a rest playing so many games in a row (with loses in most of them) it would not of hurt putting a backup in.

He didn't have a backup, he only had a Bachman...
