So does Team Canada but what do they know?
Why not listen to a 50 something guy who still comes home with white nostrils a few times a week?

Yeah maybe the league will actually do something about this unnecessary MMA bs.

Like how Button put that schmuck in his place.
Sure, nobody is happy but maybe Green told the team not to retaliate and win the game?
EDIT: Here it is...
Green said he told his team to keep control and not go chasing after Matheson.
“You’ve got to show composure when you’re in a game. It’s a 3-2 hockey game. There’s 12 minutes left. You’re talking about a guy that has one fight in his career. I don’t think he’s known as a dirty player. You’re in a hockey game, you don’t just go start chasing guys around the rink.
On a side note... rumour that Beagle is out indefinitely with a broken bone? Two centers out. Do we see a Gaudette called up?

I agree with the Canucks stance. Those two points could get the team over that 70 point crest. Huge accomplishment. Send an email to the league and let them handle it. Rinse, repeat and go back to squatting to piss.

Yeah no, trying to get revenge in that moment or the rest of the way would have been kinda dumb.
Any Canuck that goes apeshit running around looking for a panther to pummel was only going to get the gate and put the panthers on a power play and they would have scored and then they laugh all the way to the bank with two points and we take consolace in that we got the moral victory?
Fuck that, the canucks know they got a couple spindly and short players so they need to be proactive nightly.
Scouting should identify who are the likely hitters in any game and send the message early - first.

Gretzky had Semenko. Bure had Odjick. Who does Petterson have?

And the Penguins won the Stanley Cup again after they got crazy ass Sestito to play a handful of games vs the rowdy teams during the regular season.
Ovechkin has Tom Wilson.
Just sayin' big fella N. Ritchie is still without a contract. (RFA).

Nope it's sending a message to other hitters to ease up a bit on EP, or else you will get retribution on your mates or yourself...but the canucks did nothing thanks to Travis Green caring more about ONE win, vs multiple wins and future championships (with a healthy EP), TG should have thought about long term success vs a one win success, he basically neutered the club - Trevor Linden styles.ukcanuck wrote: ↑Sat Oct 13, 2018 11:07 pm Yeah no, trying to get revenge in that moment or the rest of the way would have been kinda dumb.

I mean this is game 5 of the REGULAR season and Green is saying yeah it's ok to take liberties with Pettersson, no biggie.
Re: Gudbranson hit on Dube and he had to fight Hamonic after, Guds respected that from Hamonic sticking up for their rookie, now other teams know if you take liberties with the youth, someone is going to stick up for em....but the canucks? coach Green says nahhh they won't protect their youth, not even the franchise player s-m-h.

I think you could get Rahimi on the cheap.
And seriously, he'd probably be an improvement over some of the D we have today....
