Hank wrote: Sat Sep 22, 2018 7:12 pm Watching these preseason games, you see how shallow our right-side D depth really is.

Tanev, Gudbranson, Stetcher, Biega, Chatfield... Other than the Tan-man, it's pretty sad. There's no way you can move Tanev, not with Aqua's mandate of "Win Now For Luigi".

What’s worse is that the the top 3 rated D-men in the 2019 draft are all Left side D’men - Byram, Broberg, Robertson, not too mention Hughes and Tryamkin and Juolevi. Jett Woo is our only hope for the right side
Exactly what I was thinking, Dude.

Chatfield won't stick.

And Demko, go stay another year in the AHL

Demko has not played with confidence this pre-season.

Demko should have come out but hesitated. I think he needs another year in Utica.

Powerplay needs some work. It ain't gonna just happen because Pettersson and Boeser is on the ice.

Sutter and Gagner are no Horvat and Baertschi. The defense needs a lot of work.

Both Leipsic and Motte have played well this pre-season. They’ve been consistent and hard to play against. Both have played good 200’ games. But I still think Motte’s waiver status may work against him, at least initially.

Gagne has done nothing but I just can’t see Benning waiving him.

Gaudette has been good, Petterson has been good.

Tough calls to make but I don’t believe Benning will waive vets at this point.

Sure, but Horvat and Bearcheese aren't the Sedins. One of the biggest things right now are clean entries. Also, Elias still isn't strong enough if the PK is aggressive and gives him little time. And Brain DEdler on the point? Box of chocolates.

They can always work on it some more, especially whoever is going to be on the second unit. Could be both Sutter and Gagner.

Agree with the D. I think it needs more than work. It needs replacement parts.

It’s going to be a long season

Problem is we need those who compete for top 6 to show what they can do, not those who compete for the 12, 13th forward spot.

Pettersson is capable.
but so far
Dahlen not ready,
Virtanen and Goldobin questionable,
Boucher bye,
Granlund limited to bottom 6 duties,
Eriksson out,
Gagner is just sitting back comfortably for doing nothing,

Leipsic plays hard but I don't think he's not a top 6 material.

Hey Travis we know Archibald did wonders for you in the A but he’s no NHL’er

Leipsic is more like a top 6 than Gagner.
