If the goals had been scored in a different order last night, say even trading goals, the Canucks might feel like they got away with one.

The Avs were much better the first 14 minutes of the game; then the Canucks played well for about 20 minutes, and then the Avs dominated the rest of the way. If you get badly outplayed 2 out of 3 periods, you usually lose.

But they still had a chance to win if the PK could have killed more than 16% of the power plays.....

And if you want a third equation for a loss:

EG was brutal, Dowd was awful, JV showed exactly why his ice time used to be limited towards the end of games, the Sedins generated nothing, and Goldobin was the Canucks best forward.
