Gaunce can't even score an empty net NHL goal.

New pattern for Erickson - 2nd year in a row he got his 1st goal in an empty net.

At least this year he understands which uniform he is playing for....

Genius never sleeps, Rocky, he's way too many steps ahead of the competetion.

That deal for Sven is the best thing he has done since becoming the GM.

Like I said earlier, is Markstrom the best trade bait we have on the team?

Granlund and Pouliot trades are up there as well.

When they think Demko is ready, if that's next season, than ya, one of Markstrom or Nilsson will be gone. But if they wait one more year...

Boeser has the magic shot. One of the best wrist-snaps I have seen since Mike Bossy.
Can't be read by goalies.
He's smart too. Chatting it up pretty good out there. Getting a feel for the league quickly.
Always talking to other players, refs, linemen.
Skies the limit.
Problem on defense will not be solved through trades. That will be the popular talk but in reality, the personnel we have are not bad. Just looks that way because they are NOT moving their feet. Too much emphasis on being in what they think is the right position to defend but they are standing still.
That's a problem with the system.

When Tanev and Stetcher are back all will be right in the world. Biega and Pouliot likely to sit. Biega because he is a righty and Pouliot because he's playing the right side right now.

Ya, probably. Still hoping for Pouliot. There is speed and creativity there. Maybe a late bloomer, can still get better.

Still got hope for Pouliot who shows flashes of being a very good offensive Dman. Biega is a decent reserve call up.

Del Zotto is maybe our worst on D, posting a -9. Tanev of course is our best with a +9 followed by Hutton at +4. Looks to me like we might be able to trade Granlund or Gaunce without hurting the team. Maybe throw in Del Zotto as deal sweetener if a good dman or top prospect be comes available.
Meantime it was a great game to watch. 3 B line is about as good a young line and will just get better with more games. Most exciting line since Bure's rookie season !

Granlund is young, smart and versatile. Unless there is a replacement for him, I would not trade him just yet. As for Gaunce, unfortunately he has zero trade value right now.

A few comments;

If Brandon Manning scores in Chicago, will they play Chelsea Dagger?

Biega has surpassed the 'lil trojan, Pouliot has more upside but not sure he'll get the chance. Biega's aggressive puck pursuit getting in on the forecheck is great to watch.

Vancouver has a clear #1 line, and three roughly equal lines after that. Vanek continues to impress me and now that he has a real centre.....

Gaunce, so unspectacularly steady he bores the hell out of many fans. If he ever manages to bury a chance he he'll be more than just another hands of stone Steve Bernier.

Gudbranson reminds me of Bryan Allen/Brent Sopel
