Random thoughts after last nights games:

Eriksson plays best with Granlund. I'd keep them together. I don't mind last nights second line of Baertschi with them, though it should be the third line in the regular season.

Bo hasn't looked great in his limited showings, and now he is injured. For a guy who has gotten off to slow starts before, this is not a good sign. If Bo can stay away from the hotdogs, him between Vanek and Brock may be worth a look. If he becomes Bo Horfat send him to play with Sutter and Dorsett and we can compete for the most expensive fourth line ever.

Hate to lose Rodin to Waivers. He is just getting back up to speed. Hope they don't sign the PTOs and keep him around as a spare forward. He could be tried with the Sedins. So far, Gagner isn't doing much with them, but it is early.

Virtanen and Chatfield are waiver exempt so I'd send them down, but they would be my first two call ups.

:eh:

Is there something that indicates this is the case with Bo?

This is pretty much the only time I've read any opinion on him being anything less that completely dedicated and one of the hardest working guys on the team.

I believe he has started off each season slowly, but picks it up as the season goes on. Was hoping this season would be different. Maybe it will, but no evidence yet.

"If Bo can stay away from the hotdogs" and "Bo Horfat" :scowl:

Clearly you don't know Bo...

Hey, I said "if".

That's a universal qualifier, damn it!

Sorry Bo

Well I don't AT ALL, buy into the idea, however, there is a trending idea that many players are.
This is mostly for guys with a foregone conclusion, spot;
"Start the season about 10 to 15 pounds over what you consider your ideal playing weight".

I understand the principal of the idea but again, don't think it helps.

Bo is a tank. The rationale for slow starts is likely just timing! Build up the strength and endurance during the offseason, bigger guys can lose a lot of weight during the season. Likely doesn't get back on skates until August or so.

IIRC Bertuzzi, in his prime, would come to camp at around 240 and by the end of the year be closer to 215-220. A lot of it muscle because they don't have the time to strength train during the season.

I'd far prefer guys that peak and perform better at the end of the season but that's just me.

Bo is one of the players on this squad who I have zero concerns about.

Is much of team China on cruise control, not battling for a spot, time changes...lets not get hurt.

Definitely! Any minor tweak and any one of the guys that went over there should be shelved.

The distended stomach is a sign of HGH (Huge Gut Horvat).

Daniel is laughing and pointing because the Chinese words actually Google Translates to "Danger. Keep fatties no allowed out of the ice."
