Since I'm in the worst time zone on the planet to watch Canucks games this is the only game I have been able to watch so far.

I gotta say, there seems to be a lot of unwarranted negativity towards the future of this team. This team may not be good enough to make the playoffs, but there is a foundation being laid here that is obvious. This team is starting to look like they have a supportive learning environment that makes everyone better.

I totally agree with Benning. I wouldn't be a seller at the deadline either. Our vets provide a great example and the call ups like stecher, skille and Megna couldn't be in a better place development wise. In fact no matter how the season plays out, they will have another set of rookies pushing to make the line up next year.

Im not seeing what the bed setters are seeing, I see growth.

In all honesty; This might well have been one of the or the best "TEAM" game the Canucks have played in a season and a half. A seriously good effort for game 3 in 4 nights.
All the pieces aren't there yet but they took a big step forward this night in regards to mental attitude.
Very impressed..

Good game. Oilers didn't deserve a point, but Refs gotta fix things.
Defense looks solid the last three games. Edler and Tanev back helps a ton.
Trymakin is joining the rush more often, and is playing with more confidence. Real nice draft pick.
I dumped on Sbisa a lot last year, but he is playing a very solid game these days. If he keeps this up he may get protected over Gudbranson in the expansion draft.
Hutton is the only weak link, and I think he will grow out of it. Sophomore slumps hitting him hard.
If they can just stay healthy, they have a chance of making the playoffs.
2017 our year!

I hope.

Hard to make out our team this year, very inconsistent. One game we'd look pretty good, then we'd go thru a stretch where we look simply not good enuff. Unlike our early start where we won like 4 straight vs weaker teams, we now take 3 vs pretty good teams (2 from the Cali teams who we usually lose to) and we're back in the hunt for the wildcard spot. Getting healthy on D again probably really helps, especially our top 2 of Edler and Tanev.

Our team is not built to tank (too good), so we might as well go for it I guess. I think our goaltending is pretty solid and I like our players down the middle (centre) and our D core when healthy. We're a bit weak on the wings, but I think that's the position of least importance. Go Nuckleheads! :D

Canucks say NO to the loser culture that Blob INs advocate all in the name of a landing a top 5 pick. See the Avslanche, Islanders and Sabres and how they are managing the loser culture. Canucks are 3 points out of s wild card spot and sit 23rd overall in the league. We'd be drafting 8th if the season ended now. Playoffs baby!

Lol @ Pacific Blue the rubber pants wearing man who bitched through five playoff series wins and a team that was a legit contender for five years.

The Canucks have 7 regulation wins and 10 circus wins. They are outshot 75 % of the games. It ain't sustainable.

Top 10 reasons why it is not only sustainable, but improveable.

10. it's 2017
9. defense is healthy
8. goalies at the top of their games
7. hardest part of the schedule is behind them
6. Tryamkin is turning into a prongerfied chara right before your eyes
5. Stecher is turning into a rafalskified boyle right before your eyes
4. Honey Badger is coming back to complete top line
3. Sedinery is still powerful
2. Dragon Slayer found his Bow
1. Bo

Best get on the bandwagon while there is still room.

A few comments;
Strong game all round against a team that looked disinterested.

Troy Stecher is Lynden Vey on the back end. While many here are in love with the guy, he can not defend, is a lightweight on the boards and is knocked down far too easily. Offensively, he has a quick release shot, and not much else. There is no doubt he's filling the Vey void.

Trymkin is on the Bo Horvat development train. Safe, conservative defense and only the last few games is he starting to shoot from the point, nearly all wristers. It is great watching him develop.

Note Tanev/Sbisa drew the McHeyzues assignment 5 on 5. On the PK the pairing were switched around to Sbisa/Trymkin and Edler/Tanev.

This is now Bo Horvat's team.

Stecher is this year's Vey?
Clean your shades Topper
Stecher just played 25 minutes against the Kings and the Canucks won.
If Vey played 25 minutes against the Kings the Canucks would have lost and they'd still be scraping his remains off the boards.

I'd add that I was @ one of the Jets games recently. I was sitting @ lower bowl and saw one of the jets take a run at Stecher right b4 my eyes. Stetch was pissed, he was retaliating (slashing) and going back @ the guy pretty hard despite the size mismatch, I thought he was going to get a penalty. Vey on the other hand probably would have just gotten back up, maybe go back to the bench with his head down and lose any battle for the rest of the game, no push back.

*Haha* Yeah, we'll see. Our team is Jekyll and Hyde. When we suck, we suck; when we're on our game, we can keep it close vs some tougher teams and steal some points. I like our 4th line of Gaunce-Chaput-Skille as well. Like 2 years ago, Willie D and our team is at it's best when he can roll 4 lines. I kind of see that right now and Hansen is not even in the lineup. Not even going to bother mentioning Dorsett. *hehe*

Playoffs is a different animal though. If we make it and depending who we play, we might steal a round, but probably don't have the horses to go very far after that. Doing our classic Canuck run: bowing out early in the playoffs and getting another mid round pick.

Yeah that playoff run in 2015 did a world of good for this team. They got raped by Ferland and the Flames and ended up with the 22nd pick. A top 10 pick in that draft would have been huge.

It's nice to see the young guys competing and improving but I still can't see this team getting the 92 -94 points to make it in.

We ended up picking Boeser with that 22nd pick, you don't like? Would you rather have Zacha or Miere?
