Give your head a shake if you think Trymakin would have made the difference.
Breakdown:
We lost miserably on F/O. Manny obviously doesn't see the problem yet
We were out shot, badly.
We were out hit by a wide margins.
Our passing was brutal.
We were slow.
Our forechecking was almost non existent.
Our D did not have a good game transitioning the puck, either by way of pass or skating it out.
More than one player bailed on hits and turned the puck over.
This team was tired and it showed. They were slow and ineffective. 6 games in 9 nights will do that to you espescially on a back to back.
Up front: Baertschi isn't producing; the twins aren't producing like we need them too; Erickson hasn't scored; Virtanen looks lost; Our "top" line was ineffective for the most part.
Our PP sucks, has for 2.5 years now. I love the twins but they our PP PKillers.
Not much WD could do with what he had. We knew heading into the season:
Goaltending would be good and so far it's been good enough.
We hoped our D would improve and its has but still needs tweaking.
We knew we would struggle to score and we have.
We knew we were small and it's showing.
Still 9-12 points to start the season is fantastic. Benning said he expected a tough 15 games to start and at that point he would take stock,of where we were. Or words,to that effect. I suspect we will see a call up to fill in for Burrows and Dorsett. I still think we need to send Jake down to play top six minutes and find his pro game.
It's not Stetcher time yet. But it is time to get Trymakin in.
