Another 4 pointer. A win and we go 5 up on the Oilers. A loss and they close within 1 point. If it's a three pointer, a win 4 up, a loss 2 up.
The goalie rotation continues, Markstrom in, even though Miller is 12-1 lifetime against the Oilers. But no complaints, I like the rotation at this point.
No Sbisa, no Weber, no Hansen, no Granlund, no Dorsett. Plus the other long term injuries.
Hansen has had a set back and won't play this weekend.
Biega looks ready to go so one of Pedan or Tryamkin likely to sit tonight. As much as I want to see Tryamkin play I think Pedan has earned it, plus we need to get him some NHL games too this season. Of course WD could keep Biega out one more game.
Up front we could see either Vrbata or Burrows back with the twins. Of course Grenier could get another shot there as well.
Really is crunch time. If we lose, and Buffalo wins, they jump us and move two points ahead of us. If Calgary wins they move one point ahead of us. If Winnipeg wins they move within one of us. And of course we have already seen that Edmonton too could move with one. I honestly never saw us as a bottom feeding team but here it is. One can only try to see the positive but I hope to never see this again.
Of course as things go, Canucks will win in regulation and Buffalo, Calgary and Winnipeg will all lose, inching us further away from Matthews
But not one to cheer for ex Canucks like Kassian, Cracknell and Clendenning, go Canucks go!!

I want Virtanen to smash McDavid (again) and then beat the piss out of Hall when he objects.Reefer2 wrote:I want a win/win.

If Kassian's off-ice issues have been resolved, it hasn't translated into improved performance. 7 points in 27 games, and only 3 in the last 18. Now playing on the 4th line. Looks like a player who will just slowly disappear.

Yeah, it's really too bad - still hoping for his sake that he can make it, but appears like he may be one of those with all the tools that is severely limited because of the toolbox.5thhorseman wrote:If Kassian's off-ice issues have been resolved, it hasn't translated into improved performance. 7 points in 27 games, and only 3 in the last 18. As for tonight, hope the kids all have a good game but that we still increase our chances for Matthews.

#Canucks will not have Biega on the ice tonight, so it appears the two Russians (Pedan-Tryamkin) stay together to start/could change in game

So the same line as against the AVS. Good to see the Russian bears again. Certainly a bonus this season is getting playing time for so many kids.
In the grand scheme of things it certainly appears that Hamhuis is a blessing and seems to have embraced his role as mentor, teacher, elder statesman. Looking more and more like a blessing in disguise that he wasn't traded.
The end will be painful but I am enjoying watching the kids. Hopefully this humiliating season will cause a deep burning in the pit of their collective stomachs and create a new burning, one to win and do whatever it takes to do that.
