GDT 18/11/15 Canucks @ Jets 4:30pm SN
Potential line up:
Sedin-Sedin-Hansen
Higgins-McCann-Grenier
Burrows-Horvat-Virtanen
Baertschi-Cracknell-Dorsett
Edler-Tanev
Hamhuis-Bartkowski
Hutton-Sbisa
Shinkaruk called up to fill in for Burrows against Montreal now returned to Utica. Canucks recall Grenier as they want his size in the line up against the Jets. Vrbata was a minus two against Montreal and on the ice for the 3-3 loss. He is now a minus 11. Speculation is he has been playing through a minor, nagging injury. Of course if you remember, he began playing this way last season was he was moved to the second line. He has had a brief look see with the twins this year and played some of his best hockey. Are we simply seeing a player who is best suited with the twins and rather average off their line?
Sbisa returns to the line up with Weber being the scratch. Am I the only one glad he is back? How strange is that.
McCann now listed as the second line centre. That didn't take long.
Grenier makes his NHL debut tonight, following in the footsteps of McCann, Virtanen, Shinkaruk, Hutton and Gaunce.
A win tonight would give the Canucks 6 out of 14 points on this road trip. Just slightly below .500 which blows me away given how they have played.
Miller to start.

I woudln't call either of those a 2nd line. Nice of them to give him the ego boost, I guess.Hockey Widow wrote: Higgins-McCann-Grenier

We have 7 players in this lineup with under 100 NHL games. Same number last game (not even including Markstrom).
Without injuries, we would usually have 6 of them, or 1/3 of the lineup.

He is strong on the boards, good an retrieving pucks, sound defensively and good in front of the net. I think he has the potential with the two kids on the PP. create space for MacCann to release his shot. What's not to try in this. Will it work? We will see.

He is terrible in front of the net and the worst passer on the team. Way rather put Grenier there but that won't happen because Clipboard.Hockey Widow wrote:Rumsfeld wrote:Lol @ Dorsett on the PP. Guy has junior B level hands.

Net-front presence means nothing if you never touch the puck. Maybe one of the defensemen can bounce it in off of him.

No shit . Dorsett is 190 he has no net front presence whatsoever . He has garbage hands as well . I guess Willie wouldn't want to give Jake a look .Rumsfeld wrote:He is terrible in front of the net and the worst passer on the team. Dorsett is out there to mentor Jake. Jake can learn from Dorsett's effort level in front.Blob Mckenzie wrote: No shit . Dorsett is 190 he has no net front presence whatsoever . He has garbage hands as well . I guess Willie wouldn't want to give Jake a look .
Hansen on the point?
If we're just going to say "fuck it" why not just roll this out 2nd PP:
Baertschi-Horvat-Virtanen
McCann-Hutton

Fuck it. Why not put a Stalwart on the powerkill? Put him in front as a screen and don't let him touch the puck.

That's how you make Virtanen a better pick than Ehlers!
By murdering Ehlers!
Love it.

Not sure how we come out of that with the only penalty.
