You bailed on the team remember?

Yeah.

Maybe you should leave the hockey debates to those who actually watch the games bro.

Yeah.
Last season? Cody Hodgson put up 20 goals last season. Doesn't mean he hasn't sucked this year. Maybe he'll go on a "monster run" in garbage time here at the end of the year and all will be forgiven when he sucks again next year.

Anywayz, maybe you should use your archiving skillz and maybe take a look for yourself about what was being said by me about certain topics last year...

That was a fun and well played game.

Agreed that the Sedins looked very good last night.

Kassian has been looking great towards the end of this year under Torts.

Where the hell has that power play been the past couple of years???

It will be great to see Lack, Kassian and Jensen have strong games down The stretch here. That's all I really care about and last night was a good start.

I'm just calling it as I see it. You could call it an observation, if you will. Good players usually get a lot of shots. Shots usually mean you have the puck, are in the right end of the ice and have time and space to get a shot off. Shitty players like Ryan Johnson didn't get many shots on goal.

Things do even out over time. We see it every year (i.e. the Toronto Maple leaves). Comparing Kassian's career shooting percentage (14.2%) against his shooting percentage this season (19.6%) tells me he has been lucky. Maybe the word overachieving would make you feeling better? From a statistical perspective, he is overachieving. There. Don't be surprised if he scores only 2 or 3 goals the rest of the way.

Chris Higgins is the opposite case. Given his career shooting percentage, he should probably have double the number of goals he does now. Don't be surprised if he scores a bunch before the year ends.

Since the Pittsburgh game, Kassian has 13 shots on goal. Over the same span, Daniel Sedin has 30 shots on goal. Similarly, Hank has 17 shots on goal. Vrbata has 25. Higgins has 20. Rookie 4th liner Ronalds Kenins has 12. Matthias 15 and Dorsett 13.

I'm happy Kassian has gone on a tear. Scoring a bunch of goals over a short span doesn't really tell us a whole lot over the long haul, so I'm not quite creaming my pants yet like the wetdream crew. Maybe if he ever earns more ice time he'll start generating more scoring opportunities. I hope he keeps it up and becomes a career 20% shooter. Doubt it though.

How is Kassian a kid, by the way. Dude is 24. 23 year old kid Nick Leddy just earned himself a 7 year deal.
I know you don't need any smoke blown Herb (otherwise you would be at home with a piece of hose and a pack of smokes) but dat dere is a good post

You and those strawmen of yours are getting rather tiresome there Herb.

No one has said he's not "lucky" or "overachieving" lately... Image
Maybe you consider Mëds to be a bit of a nobody (even though he is 6'13" tall and has season tickets), but yeah, he did.
Ummm... NO... he didn't. Image

Ummm... NO... he didn't. Image

(he argued about the luckiness of one particular goal, but agreed with luckiness Re: shooting percentage)

(which is what we are discussing) :hmmm:

FFS everyone agrees with your long-term shooting percentage numbers.

You poor fuck, you don't even realize you are a virtual strawman-factory do you! :(

It also took Herb quite some time to get back on the bandwagon come October:

Granted, that last post was likely a slight exaggeration BUT

Your Vancouver Canucks had won 18 of their 29 games to that point in time

So yeah, one wonders how many games Herb has missed even this season. :mex:

That is a Bruin blade up in his throat. I don't see Hansen as a diver but perhaps I missed the incident you're referring to.
I thought the butt-end of Hansen's own stick came up into his face on that play.

Agreed that Hansen is no diver.

Watch the clip. Lucic clearly hooks him. At the end of the clip they do a reverse angle. It was Pastrnak's stick, white tape, that comes up and hits Hanson high on the chest. That was what Hansen was reacting to. I don't think he was embellishing. I think he reflexively was recoiling when Pastrnak's stick came up. But that's just me.

Great work Wids… of course… THERE WAS A SECOND HOOKER!!!

Now, according to Clam’s story…

Hansen passes Lucic and starts skating up ice.

Hansen is then struck in the groin by Lucic’s stick.

The stick then proceeds to ricochet off the jock-strap and pauses

… in mid-air, mind you…

makes a left turn, and strikes Hansen’s between the first and second rib.

Which... causes Hansen to recoil, lose his balance, and fall to the ice.

Really Clam?

Ladies and gentlemen… I implore you.

SECOND HOOKER!!!

The dude has been known to buck up for a second hooker . Especially if the hooker is sporting an Adams apple . Gets himself a suite at the Astoria and an extra dimebag .
