Agreed that the Sedins looked very good last night.

Kassian has been looking great towards the end of this year under Torts.

Where the hell has that power play been the past couple of years???

It will be great to see Lack, Kassian and Jensen have strong games down The stretch here. That's all I really care about and last night was a good start.

I'm just calling it as I see it. You could call it an observation, if you will. Good players usually get a lot of shots. Shots usually mean you have the puck, are in the right end of the ice and have time and space to get a shot off. Shitty players like Ryan Johnson didn't get many shots on goal.

Things do even out over time. We see it every year (i.e. the Toronto Maple leaves). Comparing Kassian's career shooting percentage (14.2%) against his shooting percentage this season (19.6%) tells me he has been lucky. Maybe the word overachieving would make you feeling better? From a statistical perspective, he is overachieving. There. Don't be surprised if he scores only 2 or 3 goals the rest of the way.

Chris Higgins is the opposite case. Given his career shooting percentage, he should probably have double the number of goals he does now. Don't be surprised if he scores a bunch before the year ends.

Since the Pittsburgh game, Kassian has 13 shots on goal. Over the same span, Daniel Sedin has 30 shots on goal. Similarly, Hank has 17 shots on goal. Vrbata has 25. Higgins has 20. Rookie 4th liner Ronalds Kenins has 12. Matthias 15 and Dorsett 13.

I'm happy Kassian has gone on a tear. Scoring a bunch of goals over a short span doesn't really tell us a whole lot over the long haul, so I'm not quite creaming my pants yet like the wetdream crew. Maybe if he ever earns more ice time he'll start generating more scoring opportunities. I hope he keeps it up and becomes a career 20% shooter. Doubt it though.

How is Kassian a kid, by the way. Dude is 24. 23 year old kid Nick Leddy just earned himself a 7 year deal.

Watch the clip. Lucic clearly hooks him. At the end of the clip they do a reverse angle. It was Pastrnak's stick, white tape, that comes up and hits Hanson high on the chest. That was what Hansen was reacting to. I don't think he was embellishing. I think he reflexively was recoiling when Pastrnak's stick came up. But that's just me.
