I'm thinking Schenn + 2nd for Lack + Kassian/Richardson/Higgins.

Benning could make it a real big swap and maybe....

Schenn + 1st for Lack + 2nd + Kassian + Richardson.

At this point Philly has to be getting desperate!.

The flyers have some very good D prospects like Morin and Sanheim, Id rather one of those two as our D future looks awful

They are not alone though. The leaves could have had him too. Dallas, St. Louis, SJS, Minny all could have made a pitch for him. No one wanted to bite and he as basically given away. But the Flyers blew it the most because I think he would have been a perfect fit and the one piece they need to re-build around.
Dallas has their own version of Luongo in Lehtonen.....the latter being a bit more streaky.

San Jose would have been foolish to take him. They already have an aging core, no need to add a critical piece that's in the 34+ category.

Who gives a shit about Toronto. Lou would have imploded there with their media.....

St. Louis, Minnesota, and Philly would all have been great fits though, and with the teams they have, Lou could have been a real difference maker.

The Schenns must be most traded players by arm chair GMs

What's the obsession?

I dunno. I have no interest in Luke though. Brayden is a young center with a decent two-way game, he's got some speed and not afraid of contact.

I'd actually prefer Simmonds, but I don't see Philly parting with him at all at this point.

Pretty disappointing that the Canucks haven't generated any offence this period. :D

Brayden is a 23-year old, roughly 50 point, two-way Centre. He's finally turning into the player the Kings drafted 5th overall.

Luke...yeah, he's the kinda guy that would've thrived in the pre-04 lockout NHL. He is right-handed, and he does play with an edge, but I don't see him being anything more than a shut-down stay at home d-man. I'd take him on the Canucks, but his contract ($3.6M for 1 more year) is too much for a bottom-pairing guy.

I don't know what Simmonds would cost, probably start with Horvat and keep adding. Too much for the Canucks to pay.

Brayden+Braydon for Bonino+Kassian+Lack

The Flyers are a bad team. The mix there isn't right

If Hamhuis is back tomorrow, I'd like to see a bottom pairing of Corrado and Stanton.

Let's see what it's like not having a swiss fondue out there.

Just saw the highlights - how many goals has Vrbata scored like that this season from the slot with the goalie pretty much set in front of him - and yet he still picks a spot? 5 or so?

I was trying to think of a comparable player - maybe Cammalleri? Bossy? Have the Canucks ever had a sniper like that?

A few comments;
Pretty goal by Bonino, fake between the legs spin deke followed by an incredible shot

Whats the bet Emory had a tape measure after the game to check the width of the net?

Miller stole a shut out.

Shenn, bottom pairing on a beaten up depleted defence. Del Zotta should stick to texting porn stars.

Folks complain that the Canucks rely on one line too heavily........

Zach needs to figure it out, Willie's comments speak volumes.
“He has to play a certain way to be effective,” Desjardins said of Kassian. “He’s a big power guy and we can use him in that role. If he’s not, I just don’t think he’s as effective.”
If he gets it, he'l be fine, if not he'll try an organization's patience elsewhere as the guy who was traded away for Zach is doing.

Many love finding excuses, age, # of coaches, injury history, line mates, ice time...... The fact is, Zach has yet to demonstrate consistent play to any of his coaches to justify additional ice time with better line mates. The clock is ticking.

What a dysfunctional bloated line up the Flyers have.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Remember that guy.....was the captain for a while.....what was his name.....Markus Naslund or something?

:P

Nazzy's signature goal was pretty much a step or two off the half-boards and then top corner on the short-side over the goalie's shoulder, and usually the goaltender was set.

Actually it was, no move, spin to protect the puck, and then realized that he had gotten wide and took a shot with Emery committing to far blocker side. Even Bonino said that he had no intention of that being a spin deke. It was, nonetheless, a pretty goal.

Good point - I guess both Daniel and Naslund have demonstrated deadly wrist shots...

Bure could do it all - slap shot, wrist shot, deke - but I don't think of him as lurking in the slot like Vrbata.

Tanti was great at deflections, Smyl mucked a lot in, and Linden didn't really have a signature scoring position.

Anyway, I was pretty impressed with how Vrbata just calmly sniped that one yesterday.

If you mean the Brett Hull style lurker who just hangs out and waits for his chance, then yes, Vrbata is the first that I can recall. Naslund tended to distribute the puck as much as snipe. And yeah, Bure was the best talent we've ever seen in Canucks colours. I would argue that he was one of the better pure scoring talents the league has seen.
