Many changes. Many questions. Let's see what an extended summer break has done for the team.
Tonight's two tilts will be especially critical for youngsters such as Bo Horvat, Hunter Shinkaruk, Linden Vey and Frank Corrado, all of whom are hoping to land a spot on the opening night roster. Fans in Vancouver will have a chance to see the four aforementioned prospects, along with newcomers Radim Vrbata and Derek Dorsett, tonight at Rogers Arena. New goaltender Ryan Miller is not expected to dress for either game tonight.
In Vancouver:
D. Sedin-H. Sedin-Vrbata
Shinkaruk-Vey-Friesen
Zalewski-Horvat-Dorsett
Kenins-Lain-Fox
Edler-Corrado
Hamhuis-Subban
Andersson-Bieksa
Lack-Cannata
In San Jose (Stockton):
Burrows-Bonino-Kassian
Gaunce-O'Reilly-Jensen
Sestito-Jeffrey-Grenier
Archibald-Cassels-DeFazio
Weber-Tanev
Tommernes-Sanguinetti
Cederholm-Biega
Markstrom-Eriksson
I was wondering if someone would start this. I had a horrible record last year so held myself back. I predict the Canucks end the evening being 2-0 in the pre-season!
Looking forward to seeing Vrbata with the twins. Glad we get to see Vey, Dorsett, Shinkaruk and Horvat. The good thing about the split squad game is that guys like that will get good ice time.

hmm Subban the future QB?
Montreal Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban said he believes his younger brother Jordan may one day eclipse what he has accomplished.
That's saying a lot, considering that P.K. was awarded the James Norris Memorial Trophy on Saturday as the NHL's best defenseman. Subban, 23, finished with 38 points this season, tying the career high he set two seasons ago in 71 appearances during his rookie campaign. He also finished with a plus-12 rating.
"Jordan plays more of a cerebral type of game and is more of a thinker and I play off my instincts and try to do a little bit of everything," P.K. Subban said. "I think Jordan's skill level is much higher than mine. I'm on the ice with him every day during the summer doing skill stuff, and he's the one demonstrating the drill."
In his second season with the Belleville Bulls of the Ontario Hockey League, Jordan finished sixth among OHL defensemen with a career-high 51 points (15 goals, 36 assists) in 68 regular-season games. He had five goals and 20 points as a rookie in 2011-12.
"He kind of wants to do more than what I've achieved, so he's a special individual and a lot different than I am," Subban said. "He will be an amazing player, and I think that a lot of people might look past him, but they're going to be surprised in the near future how good he is because I really do think he has a lot more potential than both myself and Malcolm.
Subban looks pretty damn good to me...he's everywhere and moves the biscuit well. You'd hope being that small he's learned how to dodge a few trains...

Yup! I'd say Shinkaruk and Subban have stood out the most...Hunter looking the most ready for full time NHL play.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.
