My question is how many seasons will it take until we get that feeling again?

Well, we tend to get a run to the finals once every 12 years (approx), so we still a bit a way.

I'd wager we have a Cup team if we had a much better defense and a jeff carter type for our 2nd line.

Sedins are good, we got great 3rd/4th line depth, nice blend of youth and vets, the backbone Miller.

Just our secondary scoring is in the crapper and this team has never had an elite defense in it's history.

Our best defense at one time had Dave Babych, Lumme, Brown.

The next best D incl. Edler/Ehrhoff/Bieksa/Salo.

And in both those cases those teams went to the Cup finals............but alas nobody likes to draft dmen in this franchise, or make bold moves to trade for a high caliber type.

Just three high end d men and a couple horses up front and we are gold .

Or he could just be one of those players that thrives in a system where there is much less clutch and grab, and more ice to work with. There are plenty of highly skilled players in the European leagues that can't make the jump to the NHL because of the boring way the North American game is officiated.
