Yeah, I know. I meant Aho was a gem out of that WJC team. The others have turned out to be less so.

TBH, I thought jesse puljujarvi was going to be the best of that bunch. I'm no talent evaluator

I’m batting about .500. Doyle about .115

This has been an interesting listen so far, I'm about halfway through as I post the link.

Agent Allan Walsh on the bobcast talking about what he sees happening in free agency this year. Teams with budgets in the low seventies and backloaded contracts are two items he has mentioned so far. Also, offer sheets to RFAs next offseason if teams overextend themselves now with a flat cap moving ahead and are struggling to sign their players.

*edit - here's the youtube version

Yeah, and I thought Laine would be the real star there, especially after his rookie and sophomore seasons.

His 3rd year was a disappointment.....rough contract year. Lol.

He rebounded a bit this season, was on pace for 35 goals and 70 points.

With Laine I think it's just attitude and ego that hold him back. He's got the tools to be a 50 goal scorer. He reminds me of a Finnish Brett Hull, but I think Laine is a better all around offensive talent with some playmaking ability.....though not much more.

WTF is a "compensation" injury?

Wasn't he hurt at work anyway???
Because of the original injury, he compensated for the weakness in that recovering muscle by over-using other muscles in a funny way. Its like if you're not strong in your quads, you strain your back by bending over more than crouching down to pick something up. But with these athletes - particularly hockey players, who's sport movement is so unnatural and against so many mechanical aspects of the human body - the power they use can really muck things up if they're compensating.
Yup, I was on crutches for eight months once, because of problems with my left knee. That gave me a sore right hip, since I was overusing that side of my body. Not really an injury though, just inflammation and pain, but still.

When these pro athletes work out while nurturing an injury, I bet they can quite easily blow something else out, if they're not strictly following the orders of the physiotherapist.

I would be happy with this for Markstrom, if there is a clause where he agrees to be exposed in the expansion draft, AKA modified NMC.

Goaltender Robin Lehner has put pen to paper and signed a 5-year, $25 million extension to stay with the Vegas
@GoldenKnights
. Announcement expected later today.

I still think Jacob gets a NMC at least through the ED if not for the full term of his contract.

Pittsburgh Penguins@penguins
The Penguins have re-signed goaltender Tristan Jarry to a three-year contract.

The contract will run through the 2022.23 season and carry an average annual value of $3.5 million.

Then they should go with Demko and a cheap back-up (from NY).

Lehners' been better for a longer time and is a year younger. Still, five years. If Marky wants the same, I doubt he gets it from the Canucks.
JB said earlier he's earned the right to test the market. If he does re-sign here, there is no way I give him any trade protection.

Wasn't Olli Maata the NHL comparable for Juolevi when drafted?

With Nico Hischier signing an 8 year deal for 7.25 million annual cap hit, 10 million per for both of EP and Huggy might be a low estimate. People thinking they will sign for 8 or 9 are likely out to lunch.
