Glad Eberle is off the market. Hopefully Zaitsev goes to the Oilers and Gardiner and Myers are re signed next

Trotz showing the young NHL coaches how it's done!
Trotz split Barzal and Eberle up so each could focus on getting rid of their bad habits and learning to integrate themselves into the structure and system. Bailey babysat Barzal and Nelson and Lee babysat Eberle.
They were finally reunited late in the season and playoffs because both players understood what Trotz wanted from them.
The natural offensive chemistry re-emerged when reunited.
I am a noted anti-Eberle guy, I can't complain about this deal.

Blob - I know that we do not want to give a bad contract to anyone but do you honestly want to go forward with the same D? There has to be a guy or 2 you like that we can get and even want to protect?Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2019 9:36 am Glad Eberle is off the market. Reef I don’t want to see long term contracts handed out to mediocre players. We have enough of those on the current roster. Get a depth guy for two or three years. We don’t have much in the way of tradeable assets so it’s hard to acquire a decent d man that way.Reefer2 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2019 12:04 pmBlob - I know that we do not want to give a bad contract to anyone but do you honestly want to go forward with the same D? I’d hope that the 2019 and 2020 1st rounders aren’t being shopped. We are 2 1/2 years into this rebuild and we have a lame duck GM looking for a new contract with a pile of cap space. What could possibly go wrong?

They move to permanently to Belmont in 2 years:micky107 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2019 8:48 ammmm/ Guess it aint ever getting a permanent solution. The current plan for the team is to play 20 games this season at the Coliseum, and then 48 games in Nassau over the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons. Barclays Center has approximately half of the Islanders home games over the next three seasons.
Which one has the door offside prob/ Barclays?
Guess there just isn't enough money in the area.

Jordie Benn is the answer apparently, lolReefer2 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2019 12:04 pmBlob - I know that we do not want to give a bad contract to anyone but do you honestly want to go forward with the same D? The Sedin's made a career out of making him look foolish as a Flame. Weird, because they usually had fits against big defenders with long reach disrupting their short pass cycle game....and the Jaarko....LOLStrangelove wrote: ↑Sat Jun 15, 2019 3:30 pmmicky107 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 15, 2019 1:16 pm ;Kings buy out final two years of Dion Phaneuf’s contract

Yes, never gets old.
Didn't you, a few days ago, list the washed up ex Flame/Leaf as a possible trade target?
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

Apparently Benn at 3 x 3 is a horrible deal. Dude would prefer a worse player in Zaitsev at much more money and way more term.RoyalDude wrote: ↑Sat Jun 15, 2019 3:08 pmJordie Benn is the answer apparently, lolReefer2 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2019 12:04 pmBlob - I know that we do not want to give a bad contract to anyone but do you honestly want to go forward with the same D? He’s licking his pock riddled lips to see Elmer give 7 x 7 to Tyler Myers AND Jake Gardiner.

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
Chicago just got Olli Maatta from Pittsburgh for Dominik Kahun and a 2019 5th round pick.
That doesn't seem like much for the Pens. They give up a 24-year-old, former 1st rounder for an undrafted, 24-year-old German and a pick.
Kahun did get 13 goals and 24 assists in 82 games.
I haven't watched Maatta play that much. Is he really that bad?
