Well more like... close to $40mil. :mex:

Am I the only one wondering how Pigtown is gonna sign all their RFAs under the cap, let alone pending UFA Bozo?
http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=428209

Leaves sign Gunnarsson to a 3-year $9.45 million contract ($3.15mil per).

That leaves (pardon the pun) $6.5mil to sign Kadri, Franson, and Fraser.

Well less than that because you must save some room for injury callups.

I see alotta Leafers saying they'll just trade Liles for a pick (would the have to add another, lesser dee salary)

... but does anyone want Liles and his $3.875mil (for 3 more years)?

Yeah not sure how they're gonna pull this off without moving a contract.

Looking over their lineup I have convinced myself the Leaves are going to completely SUCK this year.

Yup, major suckage at the centre of the universe....

I think Clarkson will do well with Lupil, Kessel will be a drag on the cap structure. Bozak was a huge over payment but that will remain hidden by the wingers he plays with. The big problem for the leaves is after bottom 6, and defence. Goal will be average and I suspect they will be dumping Reimer and looking for an upgrade on Bernier next off season.

Yup, suckage in Pigtown continues.

Wait, what? Henrik Sedin stats? Do you mean Henrik at age 23?

(quote)More like a 23 year old with Alex Burrows stats, though fewer goals. And more injuries.{/quote}
No... he is far better than H Sedin or Alex Burrows at 23 ..

ummm no .. last years 48 games went like this ..
GP G A pts
H Sedin ...48 11 34 45
S Gagner 48 14 24 38

So not less goals .. MORE .. ;)

Given those #'s, Hank had 40% more assists and 18% more points.

So what was your point?

LOL @ Tiger

In 05/06, when he was making just $1.25M, Hank put up 75 points.

In 06/07, 07/08, and 08/09, he was making just $3.5M and scored 81, 76, and 82 points.

Since then (09/10 - present), he has scored 332 points.
To put that into perspective...Malkin has scored 256 points, Kovy 259, Kane 282, Crosby 268, Ovechkin 315, St Louis 327, Stamkos 340.

Same Gagne, 23 years old, who just signed a $4.8M avg annual salary contract, has never scored more than 49 points in a season.

(Hank wasn't making that much money until he was 29)

Until Gagne breaks out into a consistent PPG player, there really is no stats or salary comparison to be made.

Apparently our homeboy nonis re-signed with the leaves for another 5 years.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Interesting that MLSE handed Nonis a five year extension after only a few months on the job…what is MLSE doing? Were they afraid Nonis was going to walk? I would have at least given him a full season before coming to a conclusion either way.

Well, we just signed a veritable time-bomb of a coach to a five-year deal without getting the slightest glimpse of how he's going to make out here...

The leaves had a good run under Nonis last year and after his free agent signings this summer they look like they'll be better this season... it sucks but it's true. And God knows how much trouble some posters here have dealing with truths that suck.

Who's playing defence and who's in net?

Wouldn't say he's a veritable time bomb exactly, he did last seven years in Tampa and five in NYC.

Nonis lasted what, 4 years here and then keeps following BB like a dangling carrot.

While 5 year terms seem to be the duration of the day I think Torts is more deserving of his contract than Nonis.
