I know you're right. I just want one mutherfucking cup already. If we won it I could go another 40+ years without one but this is getting rediculous

Yes - just one... that's not asking too much is it? Tiger didn't get to see one... DBM hasn't got much longer... - Blobby's liver is only going to hold out so long - and any of use could get hit by a bus tomorrow - BUT - with that said, we're not quite ready to blow the wad for a run yet.The Brown Wizard wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2019 12:03 pm

Obviously the key to any big acquisition is going to be getting rid of Loui.
I have a new theory - he's quietly agreed to retire after playing out this year, in exchange for not getting demoted. It's the only explanation for why he's still in the press box that I can think of.

I agree. Nothing happens with him soaking up 6 mill to eat popcornESQ wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2019 1:59 pm Obviously the key to any big acquisition is going to be getting rid of Loui.

Here's an interesting discussion about the Kovalchuk situation. The Brown Wizard wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2019 2:07 pmI agree. Nothing happens with him soaking up 6 mill to eat popcornESQ wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2019 1:59 pm Obviously the key to any big acquisition is going to be getting rid of Loui.

Interesting tidbit from CapFriendly is that Kovie's cap hit remains after mutual termination, because its a 35+ contact. Loui's, theoretically, would not continue to count. One rumour I saw is that Kovie will mutually terminate after Dec. 15th.
Maybe Benning is waiting for the Kovie shoe to drop before mutual termination?

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
I can't see Loui wanting or accepting a mutual termination. He is getting a million a year (or whatever) to jet around first class, with all the perks of NHL travel, be away from the wife and 5 kids, crush beers with da boys, and look at puss all day..
Mutual termination doesn't happen until he spends quality time sitting alone in airports (in between the bus rides - with the broken heater) as he is called and recalled from Utica with repeated send downs. He should be going through waivers every 31 days. Not sure if his contract allows it, but if we can send him all the way down to Kalamazoo, then you have a chance at mutual termination..

Players on (non-entry-level) NHL contracts cannot be sent to the ECHL without their consent. (it's in the CBA)Madcombinepilot wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2019 5:33 am Not sure if his contract allows it, but if we can send him all the way down to Kalamazoo...

#NJDevils NEWS: Taylor Hall and Blake Speers to ARI in exchange for a first-round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft, third-round selection (conditional) in 2021, D Kevin Bahl and F Nick Merkley and Nate Schnarr
Pierre LeBrun
There's a hard 1st-round pick in the Hall trade PLUS another conditional 1st-round pick IF the Coyotes re-sign Hall AND win a playoff round. The conditional pick becomes a third-round pick if neither of those things happen. And a 2nd-round pick if one of those 2 things happen

Yes but Madcombinepilot's plan is to make Loui as miserable as possible.

I don't know anything about them, but a couple of those prospects appear highly rated. The Brown Wizard wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2019 2:03 pm Potentially 2 x first rounders plus scraps. Not sure I do that one

That Merkley was a late 1st rounder and the dman was a 6'6" 230lb 2nd rounder who has shown well. The 3rd guy is a longer shot but still...5 assets!
