...or Tanev! Perhaps Benning shouldn't have played games & locked him up last summer. He's only improved his value this year.

Well hopefully his two concussions have brought that value back down again.ClamRussel wrote:...or Tanev! Perhaps Benning shouldn't have played games & locked him up last summer. He's only improved his value this year.

hahah no doubt, health hazard city, I don't think Tanev with the style he plays will play a full 82 games in a season.Strangelove wrote:Well hopefully his two concussions have brought that value back down again.ClamRussel wrote:...or Tanev! He's a +$4million dollar manHockey Widow wrote:Bruins sign Krug to a 1-year extension for $3.4 million and Smith was given two years at $3.425 million, per season.
Any bets on what Matthias wants now!

1 year $3.4M per contract is reasonable for Salo like injury prone Tanev, anyways we are seeing the big difference from the Gillis days, as he'd sign everyone asap with NTC galore, but JB it's wait till offseason to worry about this shit.

Seems a lot of Bruin fans are none to happy with these deals as it will do little to alleviate their cap squeeze, with still others to sign. Feeling is they will still need to dump a contract.
I can see Tanev getting a five year at 4.5 range. Matthias I think will be shooting for 3.5-4 million and if he gets 20+ goals he will get it somewhere.

I don' think he was playing games with Tanev, I think he really needed to see him play for the season. But ya, getting him locked up last summer seems smart in retrospect.

Two concussions. When will he play again? Trade bait?Hockey Widow wrote:ClamRussel wrote:...or Tanev! Perhaps Benning shouldn't have played games & locked him up last summer. He's only improved his value this year.

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
Well, he didn't need to see Lack play before making the Miller decision. ...perhaps Tanev's camp wanted too much at the time. We just saw Tanev finish playing a 1-year "show me you can do it again" contract w/ Gillis and then Benning had him do it all over. This all comes down to how defensive players don't get the contractual respect of "stats-guys" yet coaches love them. I'm guessing the Tanev camp is going to want to make up some lost $ ground w/ the next contract.Hockey Widow wrote:ClamRussel wrote:...or Tanev! Christ , Edler looks like a steal at 5 million a season . Canucks would be wise to sign Tanev fairly smartly .
