Cap is going up by 3 so now they 9.5 in cap space

Klefbomb and Sekera will be off IR and they eat up 9.6 of that 9.5 space so now they are essentially capped out with only 17 players signed.

Trade McDavid for a quartet of 1st round picks and a top 4 dman (like a reliable #2 or very good #3).....restart the rebuild. 😂

Caps looking at moving Burokovsky as Vrana is a better asset on the depth chart.

Pending RFA. 6'3" and can flat out fly. Scored 20 as a rookie i believe...

Bit of a weak position for us. Doesn't sound bad to me. Little pricey, but new contract pending and he's due to break out of his slump.

So did I... in the '60s Brains Benton had all of his classmates' fingerprints on file and whatnot!
No way! They were handed down to me from my uncle with those big Boys Life annual things.

Really? Right after signing a goalie? Don't the owners keep tabs on things?

I don't think there's ever been a GM in history that has done as much unintentional damage to a franchise in such a short period of time.

Chiarelli actually started his tenure inheriting a pretty full cupboard with a number of 1st overall picks and other high first rounders already there. Then a generational talent in McDavid falls into his lap, then a 3rd overall in Draisaitl, then a 4th overall that turned out to be Puljujarvi...

Now there's barely any talent there besides the top-2 centers and potential cap issues due to horrendous trades and brutal signings.

Holy shit, that's some serious incompetence. The previous Oilers GMs must all be breathing a sigh of relief that their incompetence will be forgotten.

Damn - I was hoping he'd stay on to make a few more bad moves before getting canned. Knowing the Oilers, they will probably promote another one of the 80s Oilers or better yet - promote Katz's son
