If you're talking about Nash, no way can Toronto afford him imo.BladesofSteel wrote:Does any one else get the feeling JVR was brought in simply to be packaged out to Columbus?

Damn I was hoping we could have gotten Schenn. Watched him throughout his junior career, has huge potential. The Laughs with Wilson as coach destroyed his confidence. I predict that Schenn will end up a top 2 defenceman for the Flyers.

JVR + MacArthur and/or Lombardi + pick and/or Ashton or Colburne could get it done with ease IMO.Strangelove wrote:If you're talking about Nash, no way can Toronto afford him imo.BladesofSteel wrote:Does any one else get the feeling JVR was brought in simply to be packaged out to Columbus?
Burke absolutely needs to make a splash this summer, JVR doesn't cut it if Nash is available.

1). No way does that get it done for Columbus.BladesofSteel wrote: JVR + MacArthur and/or Lombardi + pick and/or Ashton or Colburne could get it done with ease IMO.
2). TO can't afford it CAP-WISE (they've still gotta sign Kulemin/Frattin/Franson/coupla-depth-dee/starting-goaltender).

I agree with all of that.okcanuck wrote: Damn I was hoping we could have gotten Schenn. Watched him throughout his junior career, has huge potential. The Laughs with Wilson as coach destroyed his confidence. I predict that Schenn will end up a top 2 defenceman for the Flyers.
But I'm happy I can cheer Schenn on.... now that he's outta Pigtown.

Would you trade three first round picks for Kessel and JVR? Burke did.

Isn't Schultz available tomorrow after midnight, I guess that's Monday morning. I thought I heard or read somewhere that he is eligible to be signed as of Midnight Sunday. But Maybe that's because July 1 is on a Sunday and I am confused??
The only HW the Canucks need
Re: Offseason Wheelings and Dealings
Burke has got to be hating the shit out of this predicament he is in, all this bluster about not wanting to gut the team for a goaltender when he has Reimer...who is he trying to bullshite, the guy HAS to land a franchise player to make up for the Kessell/Seguin debacle AND/OR he has to make the playoffs or he is finished as GM and everyone knows it fullstop...end of...
NOTE TO BRIAN
Luongo fills both bills for ya you idiot so just fucking swallow hard and bendover already and pay the price to keep your face in the spotlight where you love to be...

Re: Offseason Wheelings and Dealings
I now want our franchise goalie to go to Washington or Florida, even Chicago!!!
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.
Re: Offseason Wheelings and Dealings
JVR and his cap can stay in TO unless Ballard it going the other way.
I have been of the opinion that Edler could be a quality addition to a package landing us a younger supa'star but seeing whats out there and increasing salaries, Edler and his potential or upside mean more to us than aquiring that '96 Civic with Nos.

Colborne couldn't make it in Boston and he can't make it in Toronto, he will be a career minor leaguer, Gillis won't be asking for him...

One of the talking heads said yes, Schultz is available after Sunday, but he's scheduled to meet his agent in TO Tuesday, look for news by Wednesday.Hockey Widow wrote:Isn't Schultz available tomorrow after midnight, I guess that's Monday morning.
