Will there be any new members this year? Possibly, but there aren't many that have a shot at it.

Only three players on the preliminary rosters have a shot at joining by winning the world championship this year:
Duncan Keith, Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf.

(Martin Brodeur, Aleksei Kovalev, Tomas Holmström, Samuel Påhlsson, Milan Hejduk and Dan Boyle would also qualify through a win, but are at present not supposed to represent their countries.)

In the Stanley Cup playoffs there is oddly enough only one player that has won the Olympic Tournament and the World Championship and thus could qualify by getting a cup ring: Shea Weber.

Thus a win by Canada and/or the Predators will expand the membership, but otherwise it won't happen.

(Unless of course, one of the players mentioned in the previous parenthesis becomes a late adition on a team that goes on to win gold.)

So, guess Weber is of the table. The other three still have a shot.

Is Niedermayer the only one with four? Those included either the Memorial Cup, or NCAA Championship, or world junior championships. Maybe Niedermayer is the only one with five? I think he has a world junior and Memorial cup. Too much research for me. Not sure if others on this list have four, but I doubt anyone else has five.

Surprised Slegr made the list. :D

The world championships arent really comparable to olympic gold or a stanley cup.

The coiler cup is worthless

Just make me a double thanks....

I'm not really trying to cut back, I just wonder where "some" of the best players are when that there World thingy is going on.
I know, It's a chance to play for your country if your team didn't qualify or got booted hastily from the "Big Show"

Nice stat gathering though. Looks almost pro ;)
